Hermione's Return

Andromeda's POV

I woke early excited, today Hermione wakes up. I got up and got ready for the day. Then joined Draco for breakfast. "You're happy" he says with a smile.

"Hermione wakes up today" I say with a smile. "I got notes of all the work she missed, so that we can study together. Exams are next week" I state.

"Don't forget, what father said" he tells me.

"I haven't forgotten" I assure him. "But I want her to do well" I tell him. We finished breakfast and went to class.

(Time skip)

Classes were cancelled and we were sent back to our dorms. As a student was taken by the monster into the chamber itself. Rumor has it, it was Ginny and the school would be closing. But I don't believe rumors.

I'm studying by the fire when someone clears their throat. I look to see Professor Snape. "Can I help you professor?" I ask.

"Yes, come with me Miss Malfoy" he says. I nod and look around.

"Pansy, can you please put my books in our room?" I ask. She nods her head. I then left with Professor Snape. "Is something wrong sir?" I ask.

"Nothing you need concern yourself with" he tells me. "I trust you've heard the rumors" he says.

"I don't believe rumors Professor Snape, I mean there's no way they'd really close Hogwarts" I state.

"I'm afraid that is what might happen, but Dumbledore is on his way back. No doubt with a way to save the school" he states. I suppress a smile, Draco owes me money. We soon reach the hospital wing and he knocks.

"Ah Severus, what kept you?" Madame Pomfrey asks as she lets us in. "What's Miss Malfoy doing here?" she asks confused.

"I thought she'd like to be here when Miss Granger wakes" he states.

"But..." she goes to protest.

"I assure you, she won't cause trouble" he assures her.

"Oh very well, but only until I've checked out all the other petrified students. Then she has to go" she states. He nods his head and I go sit by Hermione. As they check the potion to see if it's ready yet. I hold Hermione's hand.

"It'll be ok Hermione, you'll wake soon and I'll help you catch up on everything" I assure her. Even though I'm not sure if she can hear me or not. "We've all missed you dearly. Ron, Harry, Neville, and Ginny has been worried too. Don't worry about school work, I'll help you study every day before exams" I add.

Madame Pomfrey appears with a mug of potion. I step back and let her give it to Hermione. Before she moved on to the next patient. I sat back down beside Hermione and held her hand again. Soon she starts to blink.

"Hermione" I say as her leg drops and she lays flat. She blinks looking around with her eyes, before looking at me. "How do you feel?" I ask her.

"Stiff" she says hoarsely. I pour her some water and help her sit up. Before holding the glass to her lips and she drinks slowly. "How long?" she asks.

"Two weeks" I tell her.

"Exams..." she starts to say.

"Shush, otherwise Pomfrey will kick me out early" I tell her. "I'll help you study everyday until exams" I assure her. She looks relieved.

"Where are the other two? How come you're the only visitor?" she asks confused.

"Most likely your common room. Snape brought me and talked Pomfrey into letting me stay before she has to give you a check up" I tell her.

"Well I'm glad you're here, though I feel guilty for the others who have no one" she tells me.

"I sort of do to, but I'm just so glad you're awake and ok" I tell her.

"You must of been a wreck" she states.

"Me, of course not" I lie and she gives me a look. "Ok, I was. It was awful losing my sister from another father" I tell her.

"Well I'm back now and won't be going anywhere" she assures me.

"Good" I say with a smile.

"Time to go" Snape tells me.

"Right, see you at breakfast" I tell Hermione. She nods her head. I give her a hug before leaving.

(Next day)

I arrived early and went to sit at the Gryffindor table. "Hi you two, Ginny glad to see you're ok" I say.

"Thanks Andy, if it weren't for Harry and Ron though. I'd be dead" she states.

"I heard the rumors" I state. I notice Hermione at the door. "Harry, Ron I think there's someone here to see you both" I say smiling. I nod at the door. They turn and smile brightly at seeing Hermione. They get up as she runs down in between the tables towards us.

When she reaches us, she hugs Harry tightly first smiling brightly. They pulled away and she went to hug Ron. But they both stopped midway and shock hands. "Welcome back Hermione" he says.

"It's great to be back" she states. "Congratulations, I can't believe you solved it" she tells the pair.

"Well we had loads of help from you" Harry tells her. Dumbledore calls our attention and they sit down. Hermione beside me.

"Before we begin our feast, let's give a round of applause to Professor Sprout, Professor Snape and Madame Pomfrey, whose Mandrake Juice has been successfully administered to all those who had been petrified" he says. Everyone applauds. "Also, in the wake of recent events, as a school treat, all exams have been cancelled" he adds.

"Oh no" Hermione groans as everyone else cheers. I pat her back sympathetically. Suddenly Hagrid enters the Great Hall.

"Sorry I'm late. The owl deliverin' my release papers got all lost 'n confused. Some ruddy bird named Errol" he states. He stops in front of us. " I jus' want to say... that if it wasn't fer' you, Harry... you an' Ron... and Hermione. Well, I jus' want to say... Thanks" he says grateful.

Harry gets up to face Hagrid. " There's no Hogwarts without you, Hagrid" he tells him. They share a hug. Just then Dumbledore gets to his feet and slowly brings his hands together. The others join him. Soon, everyone is on their feet and the Hall cheering. As the students surround Hagrid, he blinks, wipes at his tears from eye. I smile brightly, hoping for a better year next year for us all.
