(October 30th, 1994) Andromeda's POV

So the first couple of weeks since I swapped houses was torture. The slytherins were not happy and attacked me any chance they got. One seventh year even tried to use an unforgivable and has been expelled. Awaiting trial. My father sent a howler, which I destroyed along with the others I got. In fact I burnt all the letters I got that weren't from mum, Aunt Andromeda, Tonks or friends.

Things have calmed down now though and I am no longer being attacked. Apparently Snape has threatened to expel any Slytherin if they tried to attack me again. According to Blaise. Draco still isn't talking to me, which I am sadden about.

But it helps that most gryffindors have welcomed me with open arms. I'm friends with most of my dorm mates and Harry's & Ron's. I helped first years with homework. Hermione and I studied together openly now. In someways life is better. Though I will miss talking to mum and Draco.

Anyway, everyone is excited about the arrival of the other schools tonight. I'm hoping Fleur will be among the Beauxbaton students. I've missed her. We didn't write much over the holidays and I never did get to visit her. It'll be nice to see Madame Maxine again. Lessons ended half an hour early, so that we could all smarten up for the arrival of the other schools.

Many wondered how the other schools would be arriving. Some thought the train. But I know Beauxbatons will most likely come by carriage lead by Abraxan. Don't know about Durmstrang though. We all wait outside for them to arrive. I look up at the sky trying to spot a carriage.

"Why are you looking at the sky?" Hermione whispers.

"Students at Beauxbatons travel a lot by flying carriage. I believe that's how they'll arrive" I tell her. Those near by who heard me also looking to the sky. "There" I say pointing to a carriage heading our way. Being pulled by a dozen abraxan. A second later, the carriage landed too, bouncing upon its vast wheels, while the golden horses tossed their enormous heads and rolled large, fiery red eyes.

"Miss Malfoy, come forward!" Dumbledore calls and I make my way through the crowd as Madame Maxine exits the carriage. "Kindly show Madame Maxine and her students to the great hall" he instructs me. I smile, happy to do so. "My dear Madame Maxime, welcome to Hogwarts" he says once she reaches us with her students behind her. I spot Fleur and we smile at each other.

"Dumbly-dort, I 'ope I find you well?" she says.

"In excellent form, I thank you" he says. "I trust you remember Miss Malfoy" he says. I step forward and curtsy to Madame Maxine.

"Bonsoir, Madame Maxime. Je suis ravi de vous revoir. Suis-moi s'il te plait" I say in fluent french. Gesturing to the castle. (Translation: Good evening, Madame Maxime. I am delighted to see you again. Please follow me). She smiles and we set off.

"Comment vas-tu mademoiselle Malefoy?" she asks me. (Translation: How are you miss Malfoy?)

"Je vais bien" I assure her. (Translation: I am well). As we enter the great hall. "You'll find your seat at the staff table" I tell her in English. "Your students may sit wherever they please" I add.

"Thank you" she says. I curtsy again and leave. Waving to Fleur and her friends as I pass. Assuring them we'd talk later. I rejoin Hermione outside as the Durmstrang students arrive by boat with their headmaster. Once they were inside, we all enter the great hall. Once the feast started, Fleur came over to collect me to join her and her friends. We took the tray Bouillabaisse with us. It was great catching up with her and the others. We promised to talk more after the feast and I return to the gryffindor common room.

(October 31st, 1994)

I spent most of the morning, giving my Beauxbaton friends a tour of Hogwarts after breakfast. Then we had lunch together. Before I meet up with Hermione to do homework. Harry and Ron spent most of the day watching people enter their names into the Goblet of Fire. I laughed when I head about what happened to the Weasley twins when they tried to foul Dumbledore's age line with an aging potion. I wish I had seen that.

Anyway, it's nearly time for the Goblet of Fire to pick the champion for each school. I hope it's a gryffindor, though I'd be happy with anyone. As long as it isn't a Slytherin. Krum will most likely be Durmstrang's champion. I am not sure who will be Beauxbatons, but Fleur is very smart.

"Now, when the champions' names are called, I would ask them please to come up to the top of the Hall, walk along the staff table, and go through into the next chamber, where they will be receiving their first instructions" Dumbledore tells us. He took out his wand and gave a great sweeping wave with it; at once, all the candles except those inside the carved pumpkins were extinguished, plunging them into a state of semidarkness. The Goblet of Fire now shone more brightly than anything in the whole Hall.

The flames inside the goblet turned suddenly red. Sparks began to fly from it. Next moment, a tongue of flame shot into the air, a charred piece of parchment fluttered out of it. Dumbledore caught the piece of parchment and held it at arm's length, so that he could read it by the light of the flames, which had turned back to blue-white.

"The champion for Durmstrang, will be Viktor Krum!" he announces. No surprises there I think as I clap. Viktor rise from the Slytherin table and slouch up toward Dumbledore. He then turned right, walked along the staff table, and disappeared through the door into the next chamber.

The clapping and chatting died down. Now everyone's attention was focused again on the goblet, which, seconds later, turned red again. A second piece of parchment shot out of it, propelled by the flames. "The champion for Beauxbatons, is Fleur Delacour!" Dumbledore announces this time. I clap loudly, happy for my friend. Not all her school mates were as happy.

She left the great hall and the fire turns red again. Time for the Hogwarts champion. "The Hogwarts champion, is Cedric Diggory!" Dumbledore announces. Every single Hufflepuff had jumped to his or her feet, screaming and stamping, as Cedric made his way past them, grinning broadly, and headed off toward the chamber behind the teachers' table. I cheer for him. Indeed, the applause for Cedric went on so long that it was some time before Dumbledore could make himself heard again.

"Well, we now have our three champions. I am sure I can count upon all of you, including the remaining students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, to give your champions every ounce of support you can muster. By cheering your champion on..." Dumbledore stops talking as the fire from the goblet turns red again.

Automatically, it seemed, Dumbledore reached out and seized the piece of parchment. He held it out and stared at the name written upon it. There was a long pause, during which Dumbledore stared at the slip in his hands, and everyone in the room stared at Dumbledore. Then Dumbledore cleared his throat and read out, "Harry Potter".
