Shaun

After the doctor checked me out and pumped my stomach to get rid of the alcohol, they replaced my cast and released me. I came out of the emergency room into the waiting room to find the Grays waiting for me. Parker walked over to me.

He tried to get close, and I backed away from him as they watched me. I can't stand the thought of anyone touching me. The examination from the doctor was horrible.

A guy walked up to me and introduced himself as Nixon Gray. I recognized him from the meetings.

"Let's talk," Nixon mentioned as I looked at him. "We can go somewhere private, and if we need to sit, we can." I looked at him, saying nothing. Another guy walked over to me and introduced himself as Maverick Harper.

"Shaun, we want to help. No one will touch you, and you can talk when you're ready or sit there and not say anything. It's your choice," Maverick explained as I looked at him.

I said nothing but walked by them as they followed me. I didn't know what I was going to do now. I ended back at the rental house with Parker and went up to my old room. I sat down on the bed and sat there.

"Is he going to be okay?" Parker asked Maverick.

"In time, but he suffered tremendous physical and sexual abuse from his partner, not to mention others. I'm taking on his case to help him, and Nixon will be his sponsor. Now it's going to be a battle for Shaun. Don't push him and let him work through it," Maverick explained.

I sat there, and someone knocked on the door. I said nothing as the person took a chair and sat down in front of me.

"Shaun, I'm going to be your therapist, and Nixon will be your sponsor. We'll conduct your therapy sessions here until you feel comfortable to come to the office. When you're ready to talk, I'll listen," Maverick explained as I sat there.

I didn't know if I even wanted to talk about anything. I wasn't familiar with this guy, and I didn't trust anyone. Travis told me I could trust him and look how that turned out. Then I thought about Pax. He would never accept me now if he knew what I went through with Travis. Plus, I hurt him. Tears fell down my cheeks, knowing the guy I love hated me, and no one would love me, damaged.

I was better alone with my friend Jack. God, I need a drink.

I stayed with Josie and Britt until they released Britt. I brought them back to my house and met my family, who were there. Ma walked over to us and checked out Britt as Josie talked to Selena.

"Are you okay?" Ma asked Britt.

"They shook me, not stir," Britt joked, then started crying. Ma hugged her.

I walked over to Pops. "Dad, Lyric, and Micheal are bailing Matthew out. Maverick and Uncle Nixon are upstairs with Shaun," he explained to me as I sighed.

Pops explained our brothers were staying with Nana since Grandpa was here and didn't want Nana to stay alone. We wish you good luck with the twins and Presley, Nana.

I refereed Pax and Presley with Pat's help, considering those two are always going at it. It reminded me of the quints when they were younger.

"Knock it off, you two!" I yelled as Pax and Presley looked at me like I have two heads. "If I can handle your great uncles and your aunts, I sure in the hell can handle you two. Don't push it."

"Let me beat his ass, and we're good," Pax said with a shrug.

"Pft, I'd like to see you try. You're mad because you haven't gotten laid," Presley retorted.
