Chapter 15: Dreadful (恐ろしい)

"I did as I was told, I punched their tickets and put them to sleep. Please put me to sleep quickly. Please let me meet my dead wife and daughter. Please, please..." the conductor says as he's on his knees.

"Sure thing. You did a great job" it was a demon's hand.
"Now sleep. And have a good dream where you can meet your family"

Soon the conductor falls on the floor "asleep".
"Uhm...what about us..." a group of kids gathered.

"Just wait here and you'll get sleepier very soon. The sharp witted demon hunters might wake up, because they'll sense the demons, and their thirst for blood. Be careful as to not touch their bodies as you get close, and fasten that cord"

"Okay..." they all said.

Meanwhile outside of the train, the lower moon demon was standing tall in front.
"It doesn't matter how strong the demon hunters are. The driving force of human beings is. The heart. The soul. I should just destroy 'the core of the spirit'. If I do that, they'll be living corpses. And it'll be easy to kill them. All human hearts are the same. They're brittle and weak. As if they're made of glass" the demon says in delight.

Back inside of the train, everyone was clearly asleep. You didn't shift. You didn't move. You were perfectly still.

So you were asleep, having a pleasant dream in your head. At least for a while.

Dream

You were sitting under a tree, all of a sudden. Confused on what's going on. You knew where you were. You were back at the forest where your master lives.

You didn't question why or even cared. You walked back looking at your surroundings.

What you didn't realize was that you were back at the age of 13.

This is strange...

As you walked back to your master's house, you see the one person you never thought you'd ever see in your life again.

Seeing someone chopping wood, with their back behind your sight. It was clear who you knew who it was.

Sabito.

He stopped chopping wood as he wiped his forehead. He turns back and looks at you and smiles.

"Oh, hey (y/n). Where have you been?" He says.
You were speechless. You didn't understand if this was all real.

It seemed so real. It's like you couldn't remember what your actual life was. It's as if a screen of fog was covering up your actual reality. Thinking what you experienced was fake all along, and this was your reality after all.

"(Y/n)?"
"O-oh, I'm...fine"
He observes you and smiles a little. He slowly walks up to you.
"You sure you didn't hit your head during training?" He says.
"...I-I'm sure...Sabito...are we...did you...?"

He started to look worried.
"(Y/n), you know you can tell me anything. I love you, you know?" He says and give you a soft kiss on the forehead.

You frozen up for a moment, but then snapped out of it. You look at him, and slowly started to smile bright with a bit of tears almost streaming out of your eyes.

"I love you too!" You said and hugged him. He smiles and hugs back.

Back in reality. Inside of the train, the kids started tying the ropes on each and everyone of you guys.

"So we fasten the arms with rope?" A girl says.
"Yeah. Don't forget about the warning he gave" a boy said.

As the ropes were tied to each one, they tied the rope connecting them to you guys. Getting ready to make an appearance inside.

Back outside of the train.
"Have a nice sleep~ forget how to breathe~ so the demon will reap~ your bellies from underneath~ it's fun isn't it? They began having happy dreams. They're sleeping deeply. And can't wake up anymore"
