thomas gleefully jumped up and down throughout the halls of the mall, dragging me along side him. hi, in case you didn't know, thomas doherty has been my best friend since i was in diapers.. and now he's going to pick out an engagement ring to the love of his life, dove cameron.

i'm in love too, which scares thomas. i'm in love with dove's best friend, cameron boyce. we've been together about two years. we aren't in any place to get married right now, but one day. for our one year anniversary, he gave me a beautiful promise ring. it had his initials on the bottom part, a line of emeralds and a diamond in the middle. it was absolutely gorgeous. and thomas knew dove wanted something like that, and we wear the same sized ring.. so..

we arrived in the diamond store and my heart soared at the sight of the rings: this was going to take an eternity. i knew what a girl wanted, but dove was not a typical girl. and thomas knew that, and that damn perfectionist he is. well be here until they close.

"hi! how can we help you today?" the accountant, her name is ashley, asked.

"we're picking out a ring.." and before thomas can finish.. "oh what a lovely couple!" she beamed. i looked at thomas, and he looked at me, and we both started crying laughing.

ashley looked startled, but we were cackling. "you think.." i say, between guffaws, "that i am marrying him?" i wheeze. thomas is dying on the other side of the counter.

"i'm sorry?" ashley says, with mass confusion.
"no, i'm sorry." i say once i stop laughing, "we get that all the time," i begin, "we're like brother and sister, not romantic."

"oh!" she says, "i should've known! you have no idea how many times we see that."

thomas describes dove and explains why i'm here blah blah blah, then we start looking our way through the rings.

thomas had a vision, and i really liked the way it sounded. it was a purple gemmed band, with a mickey ears ring, welded together.

but knowing dove, i knew she would want his birthstone, and her birthstone, and disney ears.

we picked our top five rings that dove would absolutely love, and we put them on my hand. strictly to see what would look good on hand. yes, this was thomas's idea.

we narrowed it down to three, when my phone buzzed. thomas's did, too, but he didn't bother with it.

i looked down at my phone to see that cam had texted me, i didn't bother to look right now, because if i got distracted we'd be here for another three hours.
