Lennon

Calum invited me out after the show. I didn't know what I was supposed to say to him. I didn't drink alcohol. I didn't like being remotely drunk and I hadn't ever had anything that tasted good enough to be worth it. But I didn't want him to think I didn't want to get to know them. They were all pretty cool guys.

"Uh sure!" I said instantly looking for an out of the conversation. "I gotta go get my hair done now." I gestured wildly over my shoulder and he nodded.

"Oh I'll go with you." He said, which ruined my plan to get away. So he followed me to the little room where Sheldon was doing hair.

"Ah you're on time!" She seemed happy and surprised by this but I didn't ask. Calum watched her curl my hair and I tried not to be self conscious.

I quickly exited the room as Calum took my seat. I could escape now. I had sound check anyway.

Standing up on the stage alone made me nervous. This was gonna be a really big crowd. Daisy said it was sold out but I really didn't believe her.

After soundcheck and everything was ready, I took a step outside to see some people. The line was surprisingly long and it warmed my heart. I started at the front and just went down. Since I didn't let people take photos or videos of my shows, I took photos with as many fans as I could before hand. I figured it leveled it out a little bit.

I got quite a few presents and notes and a lot of hugs. The conversations I had with fans were never anything profound. My fans were silly and fun. I spent maybe an hour and a half outside talking to everyone. I didn't make it to the end of the line. It was way too long. I'd never had a queue this long before.

When I went back inside it was about time to perform. The doors were opening right as I went back in. I stood just off stage and watched the seats fill up. It was really crazy how quickly it happened. Every seat was taken.

"You Okay?" Calum asked noticing my worried demeanor. He looked out at the crowd too. This was probably a cake walk for them.

"I've never played a crowd this big." I admitted.

"Hey, you'll be great!" He said, sounding surprised that I was scared. "Look, these guys don't know we're playing. They're all here to see you."

That was a fair point, but it didn't really help. "Right...."

"It'll be great Lennon!" He promised, "This one is always the hard one. After tonight, you'll be able to do the other shows perfectly fine."

"You obviously don't know me very well." I laughed even though I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry.

"Well then I'll just give you a pep talk before every show." He laughed back as the lights went down. Time to go. I grabbed my guitar and out I went.

It occurred to me way too late that I didn't have a backup band. It also occurred to me that I had no idea what I was doing. So I played a couple acoustic songs. And then 5sos came out to be my backup band. No one even noticed them. To be fair they were pushed kinda far back on the stage.

When we left the stage I was sweaty and hot and exhausted. "That was so amazing!" I had to shout because the crowd was still going crazy.

"I told you!" Calum shouted back and adjusted his ear piece.

"It's our turn now." Luke said looking excited. They had never done anything like this and it was gonna be a big surprise. The lights went out and the crowd got even louder if that was possible. "Listen, come back out after a few songs."

"What no way!" I shook my head. It was their turn. I was just opening. That was the deal.

"People bought tickets to see you, Lennon." Ashton reasoned. "You can come out with us for a couple songs."

So I did. I got them to sing Unpredictable which got a big reaction. It was really fun playing with them and dancing with them. I was only up there for a couple songs though. It was still the best show I'd ever played.

I was ready to go to bed when I was reminded that I told Calum I'd go out with him and the others.

"It's tradition." Luke said, his arm going around my shoulders. "So you gotta come."

"Is Sheldon going?" I asked hoping I wasn't the only girl.

"Nah she doesn't usually." Ashton said waving his hand. "She probably has to call her boyfriend."

We went to this local club and I actually had some fun. I didn't drink anything other than soda and I shared an order of cheesy fries with Michael. I danced with Ashton, who by the way is really bad at dancing. Calum seemed to keep away from me, which was weird but not really unwelcome somehow. I didn't want Sheldon hearing about anything worth teasing me about.

When the night was over, Ashton was sloshed and Calum was close behind him. Luke was okay, just a little giggly and flirty. He was funny. He took himself to his room.

So Michael and I got us back to the hotel. He took Ashton and I got Calum. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do with him, but Michael knocked on Sheldon's door before he went to his own room. I had no idea which room was Calum's and he was in no state to remember.

"Letsss go to....your room." He said poking my cheek. "I can sleeeeppp."

"But I only have one bed." I grumbled as he threw his arm around my shoulders. He leaned on me and I nearly fell down. He was so heavy. "Come on, Calum." I shoved him a bit and pulled him to my room. I unlocked the door and he stumbled to the bed before face planting and knocking out.

How did I get roped into this?

I changed clothes and got ready for bed. I also packed up all my stuff to leave in a few hours. We were leaving at 5am for Sydney, which was like two hours from now. I would be annoyed if we weren't getting on a bus where I could go back to sleep.

I got into bed and shoved Calum over. He was on top of the covers and snoring obnoxiously. I definitely did not find him cute.
