Lennon
So there we were knocking on the door in some high end Sydney neighborhood. I had asked Calum to come along with me because I didn't want to see my ex alone. He agreed, but only if I went with him to see his mum afterward.
I knocked on the door and shifted nervously. Calum seemed a bit uncomfortable being here, but I couldn't focus on that.
The door opened and there she was. "Hey, Lennon. Thought you'd never show up."
"Yeah, sorry, traffic." I laughed nervously. I looked over at Calum and I saw him looking between me and the person standing on the other side of the doorway.
I maybe probably should have warned him what he was walking into. Carter was gorgeous and sweet and she was my ex girlfriend. I forgot Calum didn't know.
"Uh Cal this is Carter." I gestured to her and Carter nodded to him nicely. She was nice. Just not always to me.
"Good to meet you." She said before stepping aside for us to come in. "You want some tea or something?"
"Uh no...." I cleared my throat nervously. Calum still looked uncomfortable. "Just my things please." Carter could trap anyone into staying over for hours. She was captivating and hypnotic like that. She couldn't help it. It wasn't her fault.
"Alright," she sighed and led us into a room that was clearly used for storage. I watched her look around until she found a box labeled 'Len'. She handed it to me, and I directly handed it to Calum so I could grab my guitar case. I'd been trying to get this guitar from her since before she left Auckland. It took me going on tour to get it.
"That all?" She asked crossing her arms. I wasn't sure what she wanted from me. Over the phone this was all we had agreed upon. She wanted to get rid of my things but she didn't want to work with me before she moved.
"What...else is there?" I asked glancing at Calum, like he might know. He was avoiding looking at either of us.
"Nothing..." Carter grumbled before she led the way back out of the room. I sighed and nudged Calum to follow her.
We made our way back out to the car we had asked to wait and I put my stuff in the trunk.
"That was it?" Calum asked. I hadn't even said goodbye to her. Maybe I should have. Maybe I should have taken her up on having tea.
No. We'd be in there the rest of the day if I did that.
"Yup," I shrugged and he shrugged back.
"Well now I feel badly about making you come with me to my Mum's." He teased. I didn't mind. He was nice and he obviously didn't want to go alone. He was sweet enough to come with me, so I could go with him. "I didn't know your ex meant ex girlfriend."
"Oh yeah, I guess I forgot that might be surprising." I scrunched my nose up and he laughed. Had he never listened to my music?
"Surprising is a good term." He nodded, "Pretty cool though. Sheldon is into girls I think. Maybe you could get to know her a bit better." He nudged my elbow and I almost bursted out laughing at him.
"I think Sheldon is in love with Ashton." I had noticed them. They were always together and she always looked at him a certain way she never looked at the others.
"Who knows with her." Calum sighed.
We went back to the hotel to drop my stuff off. Once that was done, we headed back out to see his mum. "You don't have to come with me to see my mum if you don't want to."
