"Yoongi, I want you to know that no matter what, you will always be the one I love. I've loved you since the day I met you. If it weren't for Youngsoo, I don't know how I ever would have survived. Because with out him, I would have never met you." Hoseok says, getting down on one knee in the middle of the park.
It was dark out but that didn't mean that no one could see the three boys standing near a street lamp.
Youngsoo squeals as Hoseok says, "Will you marry me?"
Hoseok opens a black velvet box to show Yoongi the oh so expensive ring he had bought for the older.
"What flavor is it?" Yoongi asks, slipping it onto his hand.
"Cherry. I didn't know which one you wanted and you can never go wrong with cherry." Hoseok says, standing back up.
"Wait!" Youngsoo yells, running over to the two where he forces Hoseok to get back down on one knee.
"He didn't answer!" Youngsoo says, making a hand gesture that prompts Yoongi to nod his head.
"Yeah, I guess I'll marry you." He says, pulling Hoseok up off the ground to hug him.
The three walk around for a little bit before heading home since Hoseok had to work the next morning. It was only about a four minute walk back to the apartment building but it took the three about six minutes just trying to keep Youngsoo moving because he liked to stop and look at all the cute things in the store windows. Eventually, Hoseok just picked the kid up to keep him from slowing them down anymore.
When the three were back in the building and in the elevator, they took a moment of silence for the fact that they just lied to the five year old that was quickly falling asleep in Hoseok's arms.
"How long are we gonna keep this up?"
"I don't know. Hopefully he forgets in a couple of days." Hoseok says, swaying to keep Youngsoo asleep.
"Why exactly did we get engaged?"
"Because he wanted us to."
"Yeah but why did he want us to? Why not your friend or someone that he knows better?"
"I don't know. He really likes you which is weird because he's a very shy boy. He only talks to a few of the kids at his ex-daycare and it's because I know their parents."
"Youngsoo? Shy? I couldn't tell." Yoongi says, unsarcastically.
"Yeah, he automatically clicked with you. I'm glad he is opening up to someone other than me or Jimin. But even then, he's pretty closed off with Jimin too."
"Well I'm happy to be the one he knows he can trust." Yoongi says as the elevator doors open. The two step out and go their separate ways, both smiling.
Later, as Hoseok was trying to go to sleep, all he could think about was the way Yoongi's hair fell into his eyes so often. And how soft his hands were when they briefly met during the ring exchange. And how happy he is that he found someone that gets along with his son.
This is going to be a crazy next few months. Hoseok thought to himself.
Man, was he right.
