Y/n Gonzalez was the saddest she had ever been. But with this sadness came a new fire. She scored goal after goal after goal. She decided she wanted to leave Miami after graduating. Soccer was just the way to do it. A few days after she got her heart broken the USWNT sent her an invitation to practice with them while they played a friendly in Miami. The opportunity she turned down a few years ago came back. The first time she rejected an offer was from the youth team, and it was for two reasons. First, because she wanted to play with the Mexican team instead. The second was over a girl she thought she loved at the time.

Now everything is different. Mexico has shown no interest in her yet. Maybe it's because she isn't a born mexican. Maybe it's because Mexico doesn't scout American high schools. Or maybe it's because she's too young. Whatever the case may be Mexico just isn't an option anymore.

This invitation right here is fate. It came when she's unattached and ready to take her game to the next level. Once the national team was impressed with her the clubs would come raining in. She trained nonstop for weeks. This was her time to show the world what she could do and she wasn't gonna waste her time.

Her dad was so over the moon when she told him. As a gift to her he was going to fly in all of y/n's old team so they could have a spring break they would never forget. Her new team was just as excited for her. The whole school was excited in general. Everyone congratulated her, even Lovato and Gomez.

The only blip in this whole thing was that her heart wasn't in it. Of course soccer made her happy, but Camila left a huge scar. Sure she was amazing on the field but on the inside y/n was still broken.

She never used the amazing tickets Camila got for her for Christmas. Mostly because she was scared of seeing her there since Camila kept hers. She just went with her dad to see it, and when she was there she realized this whole game was a mistake.

Because when she looked down at the Barcelona bench there she was.

Camila Cabello. The girl who broke her heart.

Camila on the other hand was trying to feel less lonely. She tried to fill the void y/n had left by using Shawn. It didn't work. At school she was basically public enemy number one with the soccer team and the cheerleaders. Therefore she was public enemy number one in general. The worst they had done was trash her locker. Lovato put a stop to the problem immediately though.

Her reason to keep going was the spring showcase and showing y/n how sorry she was. Shawn still tried flirting with her but she always brushed him off. He was only supposed to be her duet partner. He was there so they could make each other better but now it was awkward. It's too late to back down now. The song they wrote was already perfected and that was the best chance she had to impress the scouts that the nation's top schools were sending.

Everyone in her life was proud of her. Her parents were so happy that she was going to live out her dream. They saw her sadness sometimes but she never told them about what she did. She was too ashamed. They knew it was about y/n though because, she never went to pick Camila up anymore. Sofi was just sad because she didn't understand why y/n stopped coming over to play with her. Camila would make up any excuse when Sofi asked about going to one of y/n's games.

Her friends were a little disappointed in her at first, but soon got over it. Lauren still holds a bit of a grudge since she sees y/n all the time and knows how bad Camila hurt her. Camila went to the Ed Sheeran concert by herself and cried throughout the whole thing. Even meeting her favorite artist didn't stop the sadness. She wanted y/n back so bad.

She went to the soccer game she spent so much time and money on in hopes that y/n would be there as well. She got the whole VIP experience and the whole time she was teary eyed thinking about how much y/n would have loved this. She never showed though. She cried through most of the game. It was so bad that the whole team gave her their game jersey and even signed the match ball for her. Maybe then y/n would forgive her. Maybe she could win her back like this. But deep down she knew y/n wasn't going to forgive her that easily.

Hell she knew y/n might never forgive her at all.
