"Rainy!" I shout running out of the door and I look around seeing everything deserted and nobody in sight.
I start to feel like something is watching me so I start jogging down the street looking for people but I see nobody. I stop out of breath thinking something terrible has happened when I hear gunshots in the distance and start running towards them.
I arrive at the center of town and hide under a truck looking out at the fountain seeing bodies scattered around the town.
"What the-" I get cut off as a truck arrives and four solidiers jump out and start dragging the body's to the truck loading them into the back and then driving away.
"What is going on..." I walk out into the open and look around at all the blood and Ruined festival floats.
I decided to head back to my house only to hear growling behind me and I slowly turn around seeing a man walking towards me his eyes bloodshot and his arm looks to be broken.
"Aw shit man do you need help?" I start walking towards him but stop in my tracks as a shout from behind warns me not to.
"Don't do that he is infected!" A Guy runs up with a hatchet and pushes me out of the way and swings his hatchet crushing the infected's skull.
"What the hell!" My eyes go wide and I stumble back a bit trying to figure out what just happened.
"You killed him!" I look at the guy as if he had three heads.
"He was already dead and he would have killed you if I didn't save you" The boy walks over to the body and pulls out his hatchet.
"Look thanks but I need to find my friend" I start going up the street towards the house again but I turn around seeing that the boy is following me
"Don't you have someone else to save or someplace to be?" I ask him with and angry expression.
"No I have nothing better to do so I might as well follow you" he looks at me with a smile.
"Fine but we have to hurry I need to find my friend" I start running and he follows. I look around seeing the town in a new way. Flipped cars and smashed windows and bodies here and there but topping it off is a banner over town hall saying 'The New World'.
Finally we arrive at the House running inside I see Rainy sleeping on the couch and my heart leaps with joy knowing she is fine.
"Rainy wake up!" I shake her and soon she sits up with a confused look
"What is it?" Rainy tilts her head
"Have you been outside?!" I look at her feeling very scared for once in a long time.
"Yeah and so what people got wild last night and things got out of hand" Rainy laughs showing a hickey on her neck.
"Who the hell gave you that?" I look at her a little confused and mad
"You silly" She gets of the couch giving me a kiss before looking behind me and almost falling over.
"Who is that?" She looks at the boy who I had almost forgot about
"He helped me out earlier but I Never got his name" I shrugged and looked at him expecting him to say nothing.
"My name is One" He says with a blank stare
"Well nice to meet you One" Rainy smiles happily
"Listen Rainy One has got some explaining to do"
