Trust Issues

I wake to find myself naked in my bed and I panic looking around not remembering where I'm at for a second then I realize Rainy is next to me and she is wrapped in the blanket and I notice both of our cloths on the floor and Remember what happened. I pull myself from my frozen state and gently get out of bed so I don't wake Rainy. Soon my clothes are on and i'm heading out of the house with a piece of toast in one hand and my hat in the other. I make it to town hall and sit at one of the empty tables in the mess hall. I start to get anxious but then One and Aiello come into the room and sit across from me.

"How did you and Rainy sleep?" One chuckles a bit and I notice he is looking at the marks on my neck.

"Oh shut up at least I have a girlfriend" I look at One with a smirk.

Aiello just grunts a bit showing that he is still tired.

"Anyways you guys seen Havana?" I look at them and both of them shake there heads 

"No she is probably with that stupid William guy of whatever" One shrugs looking bored.

"You guys can go find her if you want but i'm going to see if I can guard the wall" Aiello gets up and heads out of the mess hall.

"Hey you wanna stop worrying and just go take a walk and hang out a bit?" One looks at me and I nod slowly.

Both of us stand up and make our way out into the open streets yet again. I look around as we step out of the mess hall and walk down the sidewalk noticing most people are getting up by now. Some tending to there crops or just walking down the sidewalks.

"It's hard to believe the world ended almost 2 months ago" One said in a whisper as he to looked at the peaceful atmosphere.

Just then the clang and screech of metal sounded and the gates came open. One of the supply run vehicles came in and everyone in the area turned to look as two people grabbed a man from the back of the car and I quickly noticed his arm had been chopped off and then I look at the rest of the group in horror as all of them come out of the car soaked in blood and guts and many of them look exhausted.

"What the hell happened here?" William shows up with two armed guards and Havana following behind them.

"We were attacked when we were coming back....they....they killed the other...supply....team..." The man fainted and fell to the ground blood coming from his bullet wound in his arm.

Everyone is looking either horrified or confused and some are wide eyed as they take in the information.

"You two grab him and take him to the clinic, everyone else meet me in the mess area all hands on deck people!" William signals and Havana and the rest of us follow and I quickly notice how quiet Rainy is.

"You alright?" I look at her with concern

"I'm fine....I'm just wondering why another group attacked our people and why does it keep happening...We were attacked on the road when we were coming here, Do you think it could be the same people?" Rainy looks at me with worry

"Who ever it was is going to pay" I look at her with a smile and nod before holding open the door for her.

Once we walk in we sit down with everyone and I quickly notice something. There is only about a handful of people minus the council. I then think about if the other group is more equipped then us and has more numbers we stand no chance.

"I'm sure most of you saw what happened or have heard in this short amount of time but if you haven't the issue is that we face a threat that we don't even know one thing about" William looks around the room and I follow his eyes seeing everyone looking so tense and uncomfortable.

"As you may know our community is very small and if they are strong enough we could be threatened to the point where we will lose people....but it also seems like that has already happened after the events today...I knew they would attack us" William mutters the last part but it was still loud enough and people put two and two together.

Mark pushes forward and grabs William by the shirt and threatens to punch him and I become worried of a fight breaking out.

"You mean to tell us that you knew about those people so you still sent teams out there to get you supplies when they would die for you!" Mark pushes him against the wall

"No its not like that they made an agreement that they wouldn't hurt us I don't know why they have broken the promise!" William trys to free himself but Mark doesn't let go.

"So you mean they agreed not to hurt you but they would always hurt us?" Mark looks disgusted and everyone else looks shocked at what they heard even Rainy looks confused.

Mark lets go of William and then we all watch him sprint out the door. Mark turns around with a disgusted face.

"So what do we do now seeming we are probably out gunned and out numbered?" One looks at Mark and Havana knowing they are the two highest ranking in the room.

"To be honest I don't know" Havana looks at One and everyone else with a blank face and Mark just shrugs with an angry expression.

Everyone in the room looks at each other with worry before Aiello steps forward with.

"I think we should try to ambush them somehow" Aiello looks around the room and people start nodding slowly to his idea.

"It could work but we would need more guns and the only place that wouldn't be looted would be in the city since the whole place fell to the infected so fast" Mark talks confidently again looking as if there was a chance to win against the other group.

"Well if were sending people to the city I think we should only send two or three" Aiello looks at Mark with a calm face 

"Good idea...Anyone wanna go?" Mark looks around at everyone and everyone seems hesitant to raise there hands but before long Rainy raises her hand and I look at her with wide eyes but then my hand shoots up beside hers.

"I'll go with them!" One raises his hand but Mark shakes his head.

"No they should only go so we don't attract attention so that we can buy some time for them to get back" Mark then grabs his rifle of the table and ends the meeting

People walk up to us and wish us luck and I start to feel hopeful yet again. But soon I would realize what me and Rainy would have to do.

We were going to a place where the Infected ruled over anything else. New York City.
