I wake up looking around the vibrant colored room and then I soon remember we were in the same house we had raided yesterday and I had taken the smallest room out of the whole house. Beta had offered me the biggest room and I politely declined knowing that I wanted to be alone for the night. Now i'm waking up and I feel like utter shit but before I step out of bed my door swings open and Beta appears and I see her look me up and down since I had fallen asleep in my underwear my whole body was basically on display.
"Oh...sorry for um...anyways Alex heard over one of the bandits radios that they are going to raid a base nearby and we talked with Alpha about it and well...we are going to stop them" Beta finishes and I nod quickly before getting dressed fully and following her to the huge kitchen.
"Beta we just heard them say they are going to attack tonight" Xavier sounded calm but I could see that he was exhausted and worried.
"Those bastards are going to sneak attack them!" Alex hits the counter sounding furious.
"Well then we will have to take them out before they can" Beta pushes a magazine into her pistol and heads towards the door. We all look at her then each other and follow behind her towards the cars.
---10 hours later/Squad C---
I watch as the sun sinks below the horizon and I grab my gun, looking around I see my team preparing for the fight that is about to go down. I was assigned Squad C we are basically the last line of defense and we have the job of being reinforcements if needed. The leader of my team is Alex and he choose Burns, Nick and last of all me. I watch as Burns eats a can of beans and laughs at a joke nick tells him.
I then turn looking in the direction the convoy will be coming through and I hope everyone stays safe. Most of all I hope Beta and her crew stays safe because they were to be the first line meaning they had set traps and tire spikes for the convoy and they would also fire the first shots and start the ambush altogether.
A hand taps my shoulder and I turn to see Alex and he points to the ground and I nod figuring he wanted to talk.
"I'm guessing your as worried as me to right?" Alex looks at me with his icy blue eyes and I nod a bit.
"I just hope we don't have to dig holes later if you know what I mean" I look at the ground still reminded of the fact that I had seen my friends or what used to be my friends walking in a group of Infected yesterday and I still didn't know where Rainy was and if she was dead or not.
"Yeah I hope we don't either...the truth is sometimes I want to just leave all this so I don't see anymore deaths but I know I couldn't leave everyone behind to die" Alex looks back at the others and then back at me and I know he was trying not to tell anyone this secret just by how quiet he had said it.
Just as I'm about to say something gunshots erupt from the direction of the convoy and I see flames shoot above the tree tops as something explodes. My eyes go wide as I notice that the ambush has started.

Short one today but part 2 of this is coming soon so technically I was planning for this book to be 20 parts but it will be 21 with this two-part chapter. Also I just want to say that after I'm done with this book two might happen depending on how much people view this book.
