I look out the window seeing the motel parking lot still deserted except for the two cars and the bodies of the people we had found dead. I then look farther seeing the bushes on the other side of the road moving. I sigh knowing yet another horde was passing through meaning we would be trapped in the room for at least another day.

"What is wrong?" Rainy wraps around my waist looking out the same window as me and I notice she stops talking seeing the horde.

"I'm just upset that we can't go back yet...well not it all actually" I sigh again knowing we will never go back to the place we had called home knowing it was to dangerous and there was no way to restore what the bandits had done to it.

"Well I was going to tell you that Ryker and Sky contacted there people and told them they were fine" Rainy sounded concerned and I know why she did.

Recently ever since the raid and the murder of our friends, I haven't been the same. I haven't slept since the night at Ryker's base and now it has been a week since then. I was feeling drained and I was beginning to notice that everyone was worried about me when I was around them.

"I'm fin-" I was about to finish when she turned me around and gave me a long worried look.

"Why don't we lay down" She pulled me towards the bed and for once I let her and before I knew it we were doing it in a dirty motel bed. I never thought we would do it in a place like this, but what can I say welcome to the apocalypse.

-1 hour later-

I lay looking at the ceiling as Rainy lays cuddled against me asleep and then I hear a quiet knock on my door and I dress quickly being careful to not wake Rainy.

I open the door a slight crack just enough to stick my head and torso out. I had just realized I had no shirt on when I looked at One.

"Sorry to....interupt....but we just heard something on the radio that you should hear right now" He sounded serious and gave me a nod and headed next door to where everyone else was.

In moments Rainy and I walked into the other room and sat down ready to hear what they had heard.

"Listen closely" Ryker put the radio on the table and everyone crowded around 

"This is Eagle One-Two reporting in on the mass herd......" A raspy voice reports in and I know it has to be a pilot for the military.

"We have what looks to be at least 500,000+ infected moving towards the south...Anyone in the north is expected to be hit anytime this week....may god spare you" The radio suddenly went silent and we were all left looking at each other in fear.

"So were screwed...all this surviving and now were just going to die by a mass horde!" Ashley complains getting up and beginning to pace. William gets up to but he goes and sits in a corner and starts to sob into his hands.

"What should we do?" Ryker looks at me and I shrug truly noticing how screwed we were.

Just when I'm thinking of giving up Maverick speaks up from behind us.

"Why don't we just head East and try to outrun the herd?" He looks at us waiting for someone to answer.

"That could work but if we don't make it far enough we are going to die for sure" One nods slowly and I can see he is already on board with the plan without even waiting for anyone to answer.

"Well I think we should vote and anyone who isn't coming will be left to fend for themselves" I look at everyone with a serious expression.

"Well you know where One and I stand in this vote" Rainy and One both look at me with determined faces. William and Ashley both nod in agreement along with Maverick.

I then turn to Ryker and He is slowly shaking his head with a sad expression and I know what he is going to say. He hasn't forgot about his group and I know I can't be mad when he says what he says.

"Look I have loved being with you guys but I have people to get back to and possible warn them...so me and Sky are leav-" He is cut off by Sky who suddenly stands next to One.

"I'm sorry Ryker but I think I'm going with them" Sky looks at him and I know she feels guilty by the look she has on her face.

"I understand...." He then reaches into his pocket and pulls out a spare radio and hands it to me.

"Keep in touch" he hugs me and walks out of the door running to one of the cars getting inside and speeding out of the parking lot.

We all look at each other and I then walk back to my room with Rainy at my side. We grab our bags and walk outside seeing everyone waiting with there few bags they had. I nod and they all follow me towards the cars silently as if we were on a stealthy mission. 

"Let's get this show on the road!" I laugh finally feeling like we could do something useful.

----1 week later----

I bite into a granola bar as I sit on a car hood next to the highway. I watch the Sunrise above the trees and for once I don't think were in an apocalypse. Then I hear a groan and I only think about how that dream didn't last long. I grab my hatchet and walk over to a car nearby and see an Infected trying to get free from its car. I laugh at how it struggles with the belt around it's waist and I soon notice that One is watching me and I come back to reality. I sigh knowing I'm going insane for laughing at a person....No the shell of what used to be a living breathing person but was now a monster who only goal was to feed on what it used to be. I walk up to it and swing my hatchet catching it between the eyes and I soon begin to zone out again as I swing over and over again until a hand grabs me from behind and I stop. I look down at the bloody pulp of what used to be the infected and then I look at One who looks stunned at my outburst.

"Are you sure your fine?" One looks at me with concern and I nod but I truly don't know if I am.

Ever since the motel I have been feeling different as if I had a new found hatred for everything and anything. anytime I'm on watch and see an infected I zone out and do what I just did to any I see and I'm starting to notice everyone's concern for me.

"Yeah just blowing off some steam...." I look at the ground not wanting to say anymore.

"Look tell me what the hell is going on, everyone is worried about you and I know you don't want to tell anyone but you don't have to tell anyone else but me...I'm here to help you man" One looks at me with a calm face and I sigh knowing I should have told him awhile ago.

"Remember the lab...well when we were there I was bit by an Infected and I haven't turned...I don't know what they did but what ever it is I think it is starting to not work because I keep zoning out and doing what you saw" I sigh feeling defeated and I remember that he was the only person I have told not including Aiello.

"So your saying you could be one of those things or what?" One looked at me worried and confused.

"I don't know" I look at him with a calm face but deep down I knew that this could get worse.

"Well our watch is up let's go wake Rainy and Sky it's there turn" One turned quickly and I followed him feeling like utter shit again.

I then thought about the fact that we were sitting on the side of the highway in a makeshift camp hiding from monster like things that want to kill us, Damn apocalypse.
