Farlan came round to my house the next morning with a couple of slices of birthday cake for me. He apologised again and he wouldn't listen when I told him it was okay.
"It's not okay," he insisted. "Gayle - you don't have to lie to me. It's me."
So I just sighed and protested and told him that none of it was his fault at all. He refused to leave.
I couldn't decide if I liked that or not - I realised that Farlan was the first person who'd ever truly stood up for me.
Not even Becks had been this persistent.
