Chapter 54*Birthday wish*

Annette's POV.

Our English teacher, Ms Venus has been calling us one by one to do our oral and I kept praying the bell to ring.

"Annette Hendricks." Ms Venus said and my heart almost jumped out of my chest. I quickly checked the time and it was half-past nine. The bell only rings at ten. "If I call you again, I'll give you a zero Annette."

"I'm coming ma'am." I said taking out a random page because I didn't prepare anything at all. I just hope she doesn't ask me to show her my notes.

As soon as I started talking about Elijah, I couldn't stop. I even forgot I was in front of the class.

"Annette." Marian shouted and I quickly snapped out. "Ma'am, she's been talking for long." She complained and I looked at the class. If it wasn't for her I would've tell the whole truth that I love Elijah not as a brother but---God, I wish I never do that again.

"You may sit down Annette, you did well. It's like Elijah is your favorite topic." Everyone giggled and I quickly took my seat.

"You were talking about me as if I'm dead." Elijah complained. "Annette, you weren't talking at my funeral when you were standing there so why did you have to declare me dead?" Before I could answer, Ms Venus called Elijah. "Can I get your pages, I didn't prepare anything." He whispered but I refused to give him my page or else he would've found out the truth, that everything I said about him came from my heart. "Fine be stingy, I'll beat your oral." He quickly got up and stood in front of the class.

"Don't change your topic Elijah." Ms Venus told him and rolled his eyes. "Or else I'll give you a---."

"A Zero. I know Ms Mercu---Venus." Elijah replied. "The topic I was forced to talk about is my fat little sister, Annette Hendircks. If it was up to me I would talk about myself but anyways let me not go off the topic. Ma'am, how long must I talk about my sister?" Elijah asked and Ms Venus looked at him angry. "Sorry." He mumbled. "Annette has bee annoying since the day she was born. She is a premature baby because she couldn't wait to come into this world to annoy me and make my life a living hell. Ever since we were kids we have been sharing everything, not even equally. If I ever complain she also complains. Sometimes I wish I never had a sister that was born the same year as me. I always wished to move from New York because of her after all I'm second in everyone's life. When my mother gets her a diamond necklace, she gets me new shoes which is cheaper than hers. I know I'm unique, wonderful and nice but sometimes she should know I'm my mother's child before her. I thank you."

"That was very short Elijah. And I told you to say good things about your sister but instead you insulted her." Ms Venus said and Elijah took a seat.

"I was joking about all that Annette, cheer up a bit. It's not like I told her the truth about how you use to eat my food." Elijah smiled at me and I faked a smile.

The bell rang and we went out for break.

"Happy birthday Annette." Kayler said giving me a big hug. "You will get your birthday present tonight. " she gave me a kiss and Byrne pushed her.

"Happy birthday best friend." Byrne gave me a kiss. "You will definitely get your present tonight."

"Are you not going to wish me a happy birthday Marian?" I questioned and she shrugged her shoulders. "It's fine. I don't want it."

"Didn't you ever hear the saying, saving the best for last?" She questioned. "But as always Elijah didn't wish you yet that's why you didn't want to come to school. And like always Annette even if I wish you a happy birthday it won't make a different after all you only want one person to wish you."
