Chapter 16*The devil caught me*

Sofia's POV.

I knew when I woke up Benjamin wouldn't be at home. It's been like this for the past couple of days and I'm glad I don't have to face him. I'm sure he is still angry about what he heard the first night I slept in his house. I don't even understand how he gets the right to get angry when he is the same person who also slept with my friend. He went on a date with her and I had to stay up the whole night waiting just for him.

I sat on the couch waiting for Charlotte to come because she promised to visit me today. Anna has been acting weird with me lately. She is always thinking about something and whenever she sees Benjamin, her whole reaction changes. I know they hated each other when I was living in New York but honestly I can see they hiding something from me.

The door bell started ringing and I quickly got up to open the door for Charlotte.

"Hey sister-in-law." Charlotte greeted me as she came in the house. I quickly closed the door behind me and walked after her.

"I'm not your sister-in-law Charlotte." I told her but she shrugged her shoulders like she didn't care.

"Didn't my brother ask you to marry him after you told him you pregnant with his child." She asked excited and I shook my head. "Sofia did you even tell him the baby you carrying is his?"

"Charlotte, I really tried. I promise you but he wouldn't let me." I smiled at her but she looked at me angry.

"Are you crazy?" She shouted. "Sofia you promised me you will tell him. He is my brother and he loves you and his children."

"I already have a headache Charlotte so stop shouting. I only told you about this child being Benjamin's because I trust you. I trust you Charlotte but now you want to sell me out to your brother who is sleeping around."

"My brother loves you Sofia. He didn't even let a single women flirter with him ever since you left. He really loves you so much Sofia and he deserve to know about his baby."

"If he loves me he wouldn't have accused me of cheating on him when he was the one who cheated and afterwards kick me out of his house. Charlotte do you even know what I have been through? Day and night I used to cry for him. I used to blame myself for everything. I used to---."

"I know." She said interrupting me. "But Sofia don't you think you punished him already? Elijah grew up without him for three years and now you want this baby to go through the same?"

"Wow." I started. "You really taking his side Charlotte?" I asked. "Charlotte he kicked me out of his house and what did you do? Nothing! None of you thought of looking for me. Charlotte you didn't even bother asking him to look for me or at least give me a chance to explain what happened that night." Tears started rolling down my cheek as those memories came back to my mind.

"I'm sorry Sofia but what you doing is not right. He needs to know, my brother needs to know the truth and you know I'm right. I know you still love him and he still loves you too."

"Get out." I mumbled and she looked at me confused. "I said get out Charlotte." I shouted wiping my tears.

"You chasing me out just because of the truth. Sofia you still do love him but you don't want to hear it. Why don't you just tell him the truth and he--."

"You really think your brother is an angel." I said. "Charlotte he loves someone else and I'm happy for him, I really am." I gave her a fake smile and she shook her head. "He slept with her you know."

"Do you love him?" She questioned.

"I don't want to lie to you so please just leave before I say something I'll regret." Charlotte sighed and quickly took her purse and left.
