Natalie PierceI already hate this.
I was dressed into a red Polka dot front wrap ruffle tea dress. It accentuated my curves even more which I absolutely hated and even showed off one of my fat thighs.
I hated wearing tight dresses like this. I was more of a flowy skirts and tank tops kind of girl. But I had to suck it up and wear this otherwise my mom would whoop me.
When I was done with my makeup, which was basically mascara, eyeliner and lipgloss, Alena helped me do my hair. She'd always been great at making different types of hairstyles. This time she just made a half up, half down hairdo and brushed through the rest of my hair to make them look smoother.
"There, you look really pretty sis." Alena spoke, shoving me in front of the full length mirror in the corner of my room.
I looked at myself in the mirror and huffed. I can't wait till this little meet-up is over.
"Let's go." I said, my tone flat. I handed my phone to Alena and the both of us walked downstairs.
When I walked into the living room where everyone was, all eyes directed towards me. I internally cringed at the attention.
"Mija, ven y siéntate." Mom patted the seat beside her. I internally thanked god that she didn't make me sit next to someone I didn't know, and went to sit down next to her but not before saying hello to everyone.
There were 4 other people here. The parents, him, and his little sister I'm assuming.
While the parents talked, I stared at him. He had messy curly hair, soft honey brown eyes and a sharp jaw. Jesus, he was truly an angel sent from heaven. The button up tee he wore accentuated his muscles even more. He also wore black skinny jeans and black boots, complete with a silver watch on his left hand.
When I was done 'checking him out' our eyes met and he smirked at me knowingly. My cheeks went red from embarrassment and I looked away, focusing on what our parents were talking about.
"So we were hoping this wedding could happen as quickly as possible." His father spoke.
"How soon are you hoping?" My mom replied.
"Maybe a couple weeks?" Shawn's mother replied shocking me to the core.
I couldn't tell if my mother was as shocked as I was. But if she was, she was hiding it pretty well.
"I don't mind. The sooner the better." My mother agreed, and I looked at her, shocked.
My father nudged my side, signalling me to just let my mother do the talking. I sighed."Shawn. The ring." His mother looked at him expectantly. He fumbled around with his pockets for a bit and then took out a small black box. He walked towards where I was sitting and kneeled on one leg in front of me.
He took the ring out of the box and held his hand out for me. I looked at mom and she nodded. I sighed internally before putting my hand in his warm one. He slowly glided the ring onto my ring finger and it surprisingly fit really well.
I could hear the parents breath a sigh of relief. Shawn went back to his seat and our parents started to talk about tonight's party where they would be announcing mine and Shawn's marriage.
There it goes. We're officially engaged.
