|Chapter 16|

When everyone saw Shawn's drowsy state they were confused.

"He has a little bit of a fever but I gave him some meds." I explained before situating him on the couch comfortably, sandwiching him between me and his mother.

We all conversed for a bit and due to the meds Shawn gained a little energy and engaged in a bit of the conversation.

After that we all got up to eat dinner in the dining room.

The adults talked amongst themselves mostly, while Emma, Aaliyah, Alena, Shawn, and I talked to each other. It was mostly Shawn and I being teased by the other three.

Alena and I had made up after our little fight so we were good.

After dinner we all played some thanksgiving games and said what we were thankful for. Now we were all just conversing amongst ourselves.

"Oh there's this new bowling alley that just opened, we all should go there together sometime." Aaliyah suggested, as Emma, Alena and and I mumbled in agreement.

I felt Shawn's arms around my waist as his head fell onto my shoulder. He made himself comfortable there before closing his eyes. All eyes were now on me and I reddened completely.

"Wow, he really does look unwell, honey I think we'll get going now." My mom spoke up and I nodded. Shawn's parents agreed and everyone left together. My parents drove Emma home since I was the one who was supposed to the drop her back but since Shawn was sick i couldn't leave.

Once everyone was gone I helped Shawn change, trying my best not look at him, and then I changed myself. I gave him more meds before making him lay on the bed comfortably as I laid beside him.

"Can you sing something for me?" Shawn spoke up softly.

"W-what? I don't sing." I stuttered.

"Yes you do, I've heard you sing in the shower." Shawn murmured, his eyes closed. I sighed.

"5AM the moon went to sleep
Your friend speaking in tongues
in the back seat
Just one little glance,
I know what you mean somehow

We're stealing moments,  moments away
Why are we just not as good in the day?
Is it too soon to know
if it's too soon to say for now?

The bubble we're living in
Setting me free again
I don't know what it is about this.."

A small smile appeared on Shawn face as I sang. I continued singing until I thought he was asleep.

"Goodnight Shawn." I muttered softly, kissed his forehead and fell asleep next to him.
