Xinlong | More? | Pt. 4

it has finally been 5 months after Y/N met Kai. they became best friends, practically inseparable!

but as for Xinlong and Y/N... they didn't talk much anymore, and Xinlong gained a few friends on his own. he never called anyone his best friend though

Y/N missed him. a lot. even though Kai was always there for her and he was her best friend, she knew no one could replace Xinlong.

she would cry for Xinlong at unreasonable hours. she would always stare him down when he walks past, and she doesn't even know she's doing it.

and for some reason, she had a burning feeling in her heart whenever she thought about Xinlong. it was mostly sadness, but she couldn't quite tell what the other one was.

Y/N woke up feeling a bit drowsy, already knowing the day wasn't going to be a great one.

she groaned as she got ready and walked to school

for some reason that day, her heart literally needed Xinlong. her mind and thoughts were filled with Xinlong

and she didn't know why.

however, she felt better when she saw Kai.
"y/n!" he smiled "hi, Kai! did you do the homework?" she asked, sheepishly smiling. Kai let out a soft chuckle "yes, i did. and as i expected, you didn't?" she smiled, biting her lip as she grabbed his backpack, looking for it

"you know me so well, Hyuka." she said with an eye smile. he pat her head "of course i do. now copy before the teacher comes."

she smiled, looking in her bag for a pencil. "umm... Kai... i don't have a pencil. can i borrow one?" he looked at her "sorry, the only pencil i have is this one. i can find one if-"

she immediately cut him off with a smile "no, it's okay. you're way too nice Hyuka. i'll go find one mys-" she was cut on when someone placed a pencil in the middle of the page and walked away.

her eyes furrowed as the person went to go throw away a small piece of paper.

although, it looked like a fresh sheet of paper.

either way, her heart wouldn't stop pounding. she couldn't take her eyes off of him.

but she quickly got out of it once Kai spoke

"that was a little weird. couldn't Xinlong just have gave you it normally?" Kai asked. she held her breath and let out a deep sigh "are you okay?" he asked. she smiled and nodded

"i got a pencil luckily." she smiled and started copying. he laughed

"yeah, now hurry." she nodded and focused on the paper. "Hyuka, how are you so smart?" she asked, still focused "huh?" he asked, looking at her

"i wish i could find a boyfriend like you when i'm older. smart, cute, nice, boyfriend material." she giggled "that would be way easier."

his heart stopped, he looked at her. he blushed a dark shade of red.

was this his time?

"o-oh..." he whispered "sorry. that was probably awkward." she said "n-no. that's okay. i want to find someone like you too." she smiled, putting the pencil down

"might as well date each other." she joked, grabbing both papers and walking towards the bin

his whole world stopped. was she being serious? should he make a move? was she flirting with him? was he over thinking it?

she came back, and looked at his tomato face "woah, Hyuka, are you okay? you look... red."
she laughed

he looked at her, having a spark in his eye. "Huening Kai..?" she asked "hello? someone there?" she waved her hand

"do you want to go on a date with me?" he bluntly said after a while. Y/N stopped. her heart was beating out of her chest

she glanced at him to see if he was being serious, only to see his face read nothing but seriousness.

and redness.

however, he looked too embarrassed to face her

she smiled "yeah. yeah, actually, i would." he looked at her, eyes widened "r-really?" he asked

she smiled "of course." he let out a deep sigh "i kind of thought you were playing... and that you would say no... but then i didn't know. and i didn't want to waste the chance and i freaked out and panicked and i-"

Y/N put your hand over his lips "alright, that's enough." she giggled "i know that if you talk any more you'll get way more nervous and have a panic attack. and i don't want you freaking out today. you're gonna be perfectly fine." she smiled

he took her hand in his and smiled "w-wait, can i do this?" he asked, eyes widening. she giggled "yes, of course." and from that, they just spoke normally like how they usually would.

except they were more romantic-y with each other.

she turned her head to see Xinlong glaring at them. they made eye contact. Y/N looked away, staring at his hands, but then looked back up. Xinlong scoffed and rolled his eyes, looking away.

it was finally 6 pm. their date was at 6:15.

Y/N wore a cute, flowery skirt with a white shirt and a jean jacket. she smiled at herself in the mirror and grabbed 2 strands if her hair, pulling it back, making a hairstyle.

then she put on a few sprays of perfume. in all honesty, she thought she smelled good.

she waited for a bit, grabbing necessities. then she sat down at the table.

Kai, being the nice gentleman he was, said he would pick her up.

her mom walked into the living room, eyes widening "omo, Y/N, why are you dressed so nicely?" she smiled "date." her mom smirked "Xinlong?" Y/N sighed and shook her head "oh... Kai?" Y/N smiled

"based on your reaction, Y/N... it seems like you like Xinlong instead." her eyes widened "n-no! no way! i don't!" her mom tsked "you know it deep inside. please, don't lead that boy on. he's a good person. i know, you're forcing yourself."

the doorbell rang "i gotta go. but i don't."

she walked towards the door, still thinking about it

"hi-"

"Xinlong?"
