LISA
After what happened yesterday, I ignore Jennie for the whole fucking day. I woke up this morning on my bed, and I didn't even know how I got there. I just know that when I went home yesterday, the first thing I got was a bunch of Whiskey bottles.
"Can I come in?" I hear someone knocking on my office door. I don't need to guess who it is. I mean who else?
"Come in," I glare at my laptop screen, not wanting to look at her face. After all, I don't want to be pathetic in front of her. Clearing her throat, she asks, "Um, boss, you have a meeting this afternoon. Would you like to have lunch early?"
Still avoiding her gaze, I say, "No, I don't. You can have lunch now. I give you twenty minutes before our meeting starts and don't forget to bring all the materials I need. Thanks."
I turn my head to look at her standing at her spot not moving and looking at me with her brows curving up. "What? Don't you want to have lunch?" I ask.
"How about you?" She asks, making my heart beat so fast for hearing her caring voice, but I think I just imagine it. She doesn't care for me in a way I want her to. She cares for me as her boss. I know.
Feeling unsatisfied, I shut my eyes closed for a moment then reply, "I think I would skip it." I look at her as she scowls at me, "Don't skip lunch, it will be bad for your health."
I don't listen to her as I continue to work on my laptop, "You can go now, Ms. Kim."
I hear her sighing as she heads out of my office. I can see through the glasses as Habin waits for her outside the door. I heave a deep sigh to eliminate my jealousy away from me. Habin is such a lucky guy I guess.
I shut down my laptop as I go to sleep on the couch, resting on it for a while before I hear my door crack open again. "Who is it? I need to raise for five minutes, go out." I say without opening my eyes.
"Me,"
My eyes turn on instantly as I hear her voice. "Why? I told you to have lunch, didn't I?" I say as I look to see her holding two bags of food and a cup of coffee.
"As I said, skipping a meal is not healthy." She comes inside as she locks the door before bringing those bags on the table. "I brought some Chinese takeout and a cup of coffee for you."
"I said I would skip it."
"Don't be a pussy. Haven't someone told you that decline someone's kindness is rude?" She says, mimicking my statement that I used with her. I smile before turning towards her.
"I don't want to interrupt your lunchtime with Habin," I say, looking at her as she takes out the food for us. "Who said I go with him?" She asks.
"No one. I saw him waiting for you outside. Don't tell me that he didn't invite you."
"He invited me, but I didn't go." She shrugs it off. "Why?" I ask as I step closer.
"I come here to eat lunch with you, not for having an interview." She glares at me in annoyance. "but, why would you care?" She adds.
"Nothing, I am just curious."
Ring Ring!
As I am about to eat the food, my phone rings in my pocket. I take it out, putting it on speaker and say, "Hello,"
"Hi, Lisa." My mom's voice echoes the room.
"Mom, what made you call me today?" I ask.
"I miss my daughter. Can't I call her?" She says sweetly as I roll my eyes at her even though I know she can't see me. Jennie hits my arm slightly when she sees I do that.
