Chapter 19 Caught

DANNY

As I rolled over in my sleep stretching I took a deep breath sliding my arm under my pillow. "Morning" A female voice said as I flickered my eyes open to a narrow spotting Tracy laying next to me. "Wassup" I scoffed nodding up a little as I yawned putting my face into my pillow. "Your phone kept going off" She said as I lifted my head up putting my chin on my arm sliding my thumb over my screen. There were numerous missed calls and texts from Kate as I didn't feel like reading the shit right now.

"Seemed like someone important" She laughed a little in a sarcastic manor as I got a bit annoyed ignoring her comment. "Just my baby mom" I mumbled tossing my phone closing my eyes again. "Well I should get going" She exhaled getting up moving the blanket off as I slowly turned around on my back placing my arm above my head. "Text me?" She suggested as I bit my lip watching her get dressed giving her a small nod. Kinda wanted to fuck her again kinda wanted her to leave anyways.

I took a deep breath rubbing my hands down my face waking up as my phone began going off again.
I exhaled blinking a few times as I seen Kate's face pop up on the screen swiping to answer it.

PHONECALL

Kate "Why haven't you been answering? I've been trying to get ahold of you all morning Cayden is sick"

Me "What do you mean sick?" I said listening closely placing my hand underneath my arm pressing my lips together concerned.

Kate "He's been fussing all night with a stuffed nose" She exhaled in a tired tone.

Me "I'll be there" I mumbled hanging up tossing my phone on the bed.

I truly didn't wanna look at her after what I experienced with my own eyes last night. But Cayden would always come first before anything between Kate and I and nothing would change that ever. As I got up to quickly shower, I bowed my head rubbing my hands through my hair with my eyes closed fathoming what I did last night as the water hit me.
I began to feel a knot in my stomach as I began to feel sick to it although Kate is clearly talking to her ex. I wasn't proud of what I did and I know I'm in love with Kate as I looked down at the drain I began to feel remorseful trying to forget about it.

PHARMACY

PHONECALL

Kate "What's it say?"

Me "Are sure he can even take this shit?" I mumbled stopping in a isle glancing at a box of Tylenol for children. "I don't know if he meets the age requirement" I said flipping the box around reading he directions and age limit.

Kate "Or we can take him to the DR" She suggested.

Me "Yeah nah I don't think he can take this shit he's only three months you're tripping" I scoffed setting the box back down picking up some "VICKS" for kids examining it slowly setting it back down.

Kate "I'll meet you at the drs office I'm gonna give him a bath he won't even take his bottle" She exhaled as I heard Cayden crying in the background.

Me "Alright well try laying him on his side with his blanket up to his face. You kinda gotta push pillows up around him he likes that" I mumbled concerned.
"Bye" I said hanging up as I took a deep breath sliding my phone back in my pocket, I turned around walking down a isle stopping to grab a water before leaving.

Drs office

"Here give me him"  I said in the parking lot opening my hands taking Cayden from Kate. "Hey buddy missed you" I whispered under my breath smiling small as I pulled his hat down over his ears. "Come on" Kate said as she avoided conversation and eye contact I glanced at her then away following her into the building. Apart of me wants to cuss her out and make a scene then again it wasn't the time or place.
