Chapter 7: Game Over

Okay so it's going to be mostly 3rd (Y/n) POV with girl pronouns because I confused my self with the they and them. When it's the other's POV then it'll have male for the trio and female for Gai when referring to (Y/n). I feel like this makes it easier.

Oh and sorry in advance for any grammar mistakes or inconsistencies. I'm writing and editing this in school. 😓🤣

(Y/n) lifted up 3 fingers catching the attention of the group in front of her. They had given her wary looks once she had spoken about a "nice warm up" and she took pride in that. It was going to be a nice warm up. Maybe not for them, but definitely for her. She mostly wanted to lead them on a chase, see if they could last long enough.

"There are three parts to this warm up. Part One will be a jog throughout the forest at relatively fast pace. I trust you can do this with ease seeing as Gai is your sensei?"

Lee yelled in affirmation, while Ten Ten and Neji took on a noticeably tired look. Gai must have run them quite a lot if their look basically said "I am going to hate this so much." Their suffering would serve as very much needed entertainment for her and so far they hadn't disappointed her in that department.

"When I give the signal, Part Two will begin. We will smoothly go from a jog to running pace. I have a charted our route for us to go so stay behind me and follow."

Neji crossed his arms. Maybe he was wrong. This supposed "warm up" would not be as rigorous as he thought it to be. What exactly was to gain from having them run through the forest? Maybe their trainer was trying to get a baring on their stamina? Or what if this was at test with a hidden meaning? He wasn't sure about anything when concerning the person in front of him.

"Any questions so far?"

"Yes (Y/n)-sensei!"Lee said. "Will we be able to wear weights to increase the ferocity of this warm up?"

(Y/n) waved her hand dismissively at the boy. Gai wasn't lying when he had said Lee pushed himself harder than anyone. It was an admirable trait to have but it could also be his downfall.

"Wear whatever you want,"she replied to Rock Lee who seemed more pumped up with the answer,"but I highly doubt it'll help you in the Third part of the warm up."

"What do we do in the third part of the warm up (Y/n)-sensei?" Ten Ten asked, her interests a bit peaked.

"You try to pass me,"(Y/n) answered in a matter of fact tone.

"Try to pass you?"Neji asked bluntly. Hadn't he just said that he wanted them to stay behind him?

"Lesson number one: don't repeat what someone says, it makes you look stupid,"(Y/n) said, crossing her arms, enjoying the piercing glare she got in return.

Neji glared fiercely at the ANBU before him. Who were they to insult him? He knew that this was merely a provocation of some sorts in order to attain amusement. Though he could not see the man's face, he felt that this was the most likely answer. Hardening his resolve, it was a trap he would would not fall into.

"But yes,"she continued. "Try to pass me. Don't worry about figuring out when the Third Part begins. You'll know it when you see the flags."

'The flags?'Gai and his students thought, each for different reasons. 'What is she talking about?'

"Can anyone tell me where they think I plan to lead us back to?"(Y/n) asked.

"Back here?"Ten Ten questioned more than answer.
