"Are you sure you don't need anything?"
"Yes, I'm sure Hyung."
"I can always take a sick leave you know."
"Hyung, I'm-"
Snatching the phone from Jaemin's hand, Doyoung struggled to put the phone to his ear due to the oven mitts on his hands. "Oh no, you fucking don't. Jaemin doesn't need two people looking after him. And don't use him as an excuse to get out of work," he quickly said, hanging up the phone after with his elbow. "That man." Doyoung tsked, tossing Jaemin his phone back.
"You guys sound like my parents," Jaemin chuckled, his voice scratchy and deep due to his cold.
"We basically are," Doyoung reminded, making Jaemin frown at the fact.
Jaemin was always thankful for his Hyungs and Jisung, having no one but them to depend on. When he was sixteen, Jaemin's parents were always there to care for him and keep a close eye on how he was doing. He loved them very much, even to this day. One night, they went out for an event, leaving Jaemin at the house. Only for him to get a call from the hospital the next morning about his parent's tragic accident. To have lost them at such a sensitive time in his life, added to his pain. Jaemin wanted nothing more than to see them again, hold them, and tell them how much he loved them. But, like most of his wishes, they never came true and will never come true.
"Hey..." Jaemin lifted his head from his pillow to look up at Doyoung who sat at the foot of his bed from where he laid. "Shouldn't you be in the kitchen?"
Doyoung's eyes widened as he stood up from his place and rushed out of the room. "Shit, my cookies!" Jaemin fell into a fit of coughs while laughing at the older, making Doyoung yell out from the living room, "Rest!"
Jaemin finally died down from his coughing fit, snuggling closer to his blankets and closing his eyes for the nth time today, attempting to sleep. But like any other day, it felt impossible to the boy. Sleep was always much easier to take on when he had music to drown out all the noise in his head. It wasn't much help, but it allowed him to focus on one thing rather than multiple things at a time. However, Jaemin didn't have his headphones. He had lost them the other day when Mark drove him home.
Deciding he's not going to sleep any time soon, Jaemin stared up at his window looking at the drizzle of rain that began to slide down the pane of glass.
In the kitchen, Doyoung was peacefully sipping his coffee while keeping an eye on his cookies that were in the oven. Which was all disrupted by the apartment door opening, following along with noisy chatter. Placing his coffee down on the kitchen island, Doyoung made his way out to the living room where he found three boys bickering.
