Camila's P.O.V
Lauren and I pulled up outside her house, heading inside
"I apologize in advance. I'm not sure how my mom is today. I don't know if she's having a good or a bad day." She said worried
"It's okay. Don't worry about it Lauren." I said smilingShe nodded, leading us inside. We headed into the living room...a petite brown headed woman was sitting on the sofa, staring into space
"Mom." Lauren said softly
"Hello my sweet girl." She gushed, turning to face us. "Oh you brought company. You should've warned me and I would've made an effort." She said embarrassed turning to me "I'm sorry you had to meet me in this state." She said fixing her hair.
"Don't be silly. You look fine. You are very pretty. I see where Lauren gets her good looks from." I smiled
"Thank you." Her mother giggled, relaxing a littleLauren turned to me, giving me a small smile.
"Mom, this is Camila...Camila this is my mom Clara." She said, introducing me
"Camila, that is a pretty name. It's nice to meet you." She smiled sweetly at me, but she looked tired...look like she has a lot to deal with her life which saddened me
"Thank you." I blushed "You too." I added
"How do you two know each other? It's not like my daughter to bring someone here to meet me." She smiled
"School." We both said in sync, making Clara laugh
"Oh wait. Lauren is this the one you said you were defending yesterday?" She askedShe told her mom that? I guess she asked when she seen her face. So that is why she was fighting with Austin, cause of me? It was sweet in a way, but at the same time it wasn't because I don't want her getting into trouble because of me
"Yes mom. I have some macaroni here for you. Let me just heat it up." Lauren smiled at her
"Thank you Lauren. While you do that, I'll get to know Camila a little better." She said smiling widely at me
"Okay." She nodded, heading to the kitchen

I went over and sat down next to Clara in the sofa then she turned her attention to me."How is Lauren at school? Is she staying out of trouble?" She asked
"She's okay and yes she's seems to be staying out of trouble." I smiled
"That's good. Are you and Lauren friends? Dating?" She asked
"Just friends." I said
"Oh that's a shame. She could do with dating a nice girl like you. I know she doesn't do that or doesn't have the time due to having to look after me which saddens me." She said sadly, feeling a little guilty
"I'm sure she will find a nice girl soon when she's ready. She loves you very much Clara...looking after you is what she wants to do." I smiled, giving her hand a squeezeShe nodded, giving me a side smile. I could tell it could get to her than Lauren is the Nike looking after her, rather than her looking after Lauren. We talked to each other until Lauren came back with her food
"Are you two not gonna eat?" She asked
"We ate at Camila's house and I'm going to stay with her tonight because her parents are out of town. Will you be okay though?" She asked
"Yes, I will be fine. I'll take a shower and then go to bed. I'm very tired today." She said
"You sure?" She asked ClaraWe stayed with Clara for a bit as she ate. Then Lauren cleaning up after her before Clara went up to bed, before heading back to my house. Lauren was being unusually quiet
"Lauren, are you okay?" I asked as we drove
"Yes, thank you for being nice to my mom. Not many are people are nice because of her addiction problems." She said
"She's a really nice woman and I really like her. I can tell you have a strong relationship with her." I said
"Yes we do. We only have each other so we gotta stick together. My dad was never in the picture, well he should show up and then disappear again. I haven't seen him for about five years now I think." She said shrugging the last part
"I'm sorry Lauren. He clearly doesn't deserve either of you in his life if that's how he is." I said
"I guess." She said, managing a small smile
