Hi guys! Sorry It's been such a long while since Hailey and I last uploaded. We didn't forget about you wonderful people!

As an update from when we last uploaded: summer passed and school started. From the beginning of the first day of school, homework has been harshly pressed. Mostly, Hailey and I just haven't had time to get together, but don't worry! We've planned out our chapters well and promise to do our best and upload faster! I'm doing my best to finish Chapter 20 now!

Also, yesterday I got baptised and Hailey was there with me for support. (:

Anyways, back to Chapter Nineteen.. Enjoy! Vote and Like if you enjoyed it and comment your feed back!

To the right is a lovely Bloodlines trailer created by the talented ylouise! Please, check it out! She did an amazing job! ---->

Chapter Eighteen recap:

Ladon knew better than anyone not to bring up the conversation, his grip around my arm tightening, but I couldn’t blame Atira. If I were her, I would’ve asked too.

Nate was able to notice my detachment before Atira, however, and changed the subject immediately. “Atira’s parents are the rulers of Mistbrook. Atira is the only princess, although apparently that isn’t correct.” He smiled sympathetically. His attempt at fully changing the subject wasn’t really working.

Atira frowned. “How long do you think Shasawna plans on keeping with this? What if we’re stuck here?” She turned to Ladon and I, “I mean no offence to you and Ladon, it’s lovely here. But I’m afraid I miss home too.” Her hands fidgeted in her lap.

“Once we can find Shasawna, I’ll end this.” Nate sounded older then, as if he had aged ten years.

The conversational mood was dreary and unrelaxed but it was evident that we all felt a little safe there and then at that campfire. We were glad to have each other’s company and I didn’t see how it could get better than that day well spent.

It was the first day in a long while that we hadn’t been hiding.

It felt good.

Chapter Nineteen

Atira

Relaxing with Taryn, Nate, and Ladon had been really nice. It was a break we had needed with all the craziness revolving Shasawna. Today I secretly hoped we would have another lazy day.

I thought about these things as I laid staring up at the rising sun. The sand around me was cool and dry. We had ended up spending the night on the beach, deciding that all four of us couldn’t sleep on the one bed in the cabin. Not to mention that the floor was just too soaked from our escapades earlier. My eyes wandered over to Nate, who was lying about a little less than a foot away from me.

He had one protective arm stretched out towards me, like he was ready to grab me and run if danger arose. I studied his hand, rough, calloused from sword fighting and training as a guard. Scooching a bit closer I began to trace the lines that criss-crossed his palm. Then I slowly opened his fingers up and placed my hand flat against his, marveling at how small my hand looked compared to his. I gasped when Nate’s fingers closed around mine, his eyes opening and a smile growing on his face.

“Good morning, Atty.” He smiled sleepily. I grinned and rolled over to lean on my elbows, still grasping his hand in mine.

“Morning, did you sleep well?” I asked. He rubbed his eyes with his empty hand, letting out a low groan.
