Back in the Hotel DeMatteis where the class were staying, Peter was still determined to not get involved with superhero work on the trip and instead focus on confessing his feelings to MJ. The two briefly talked about the events of the day and MJ admitted to looking forward to seeing the Eiffel Tower. The news had dubbed Beck 'Man of Mystery', Mysterio which the class adopted. Flash Thompson admitted to being a big fan of Spider-Man, who he said Mysterio was incomparable to.

Upstairs, Ned was tranquilized by Nick Fury who had become fed up with Peter ghosting his calls. Fury tried to explain the gravity of the Elemental situation but the pair were constantly interrupted by Ned's snoring and Peter's classmates and teachers. Wanting privacy, Fury took Peter to a S.H.I.E.L.D. setup, and along the way had gifted him Tony Stark's glasses which Peter's mentor had left for him. At Nick Fury's Hideout, Maria Hill and Quentin Beck were waiting for them, and Beck explained that he was from an alternate universe where the Elementals had destroyed his version of Earth and killed his family. The final entity, Molten Man was set to appear in Prague in several days time.

Peter, however, stated that he wanted to protect his identity meaning Spider-Man could not be seen in Europe. Given his presence at the Washington Monument and with the Avengers, Peter did not want the risk of exposure endangering those around him. Fury let him go to be escorted back to his hotel by Dimitri Smerdyakov, but the next day Mr. Harrington revealed the trip had been upgraded by the travel agency and the Midtown group were heading to Prague. The bus driver was Dimitri once more, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Fury had introduced Peter to. It was apparent to Peter the ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. Director had hijacked their trip so Peter would be where Spider-Man was needed.
