King Xemnas, the King of Oblivion was cursed. Maybe years ago he was cursed by a witch, who once thought that since he was so heartless there was no need for him to posses one. So she took his heart, and he wasn't the only one.

Through the years, she took other people's hearts as well. But it seemed that she took their hearts with no reason whatsoever. Slowly he found them he offered them a promise, a promise that one day he would help them obtain their hearts.

It has been over six years since the last member arrived to the castle. He was the youngest, and although the last to join, he was also the first to leave.

If Roxas hadn't left, Axel would have remained as well. But those imbeciles left as soon as they set out the first step of their plan. When they heard that they would manipulate one of the Kingdoms closer to Lucis into starting a war, they ran off.

It was believed that those boys that King Regis had recruited, were the ones that would help them obtain their hearts. But in order to kill them, they had to start a war. Besides, many soldiers would lose their hearts too, so it was definitely an accomplishment.

It was not good enough though.

But then they received another member, a young girl by the name of Naminé. A young nobody like them and with the ability to predict the future.

With her help they managed to find what they needed to do to obtain their hearts. 'Sacrifice that which no longer exists.' They were not sure what that meant, but eventually they found out that it was, it was actually someone who had been favored by the witch.

It has to be one of those four boys who had survived, if not then how did they manage to survive for so long. It has to be one of them. However, before that happened there was a lot that needed to be done.

Like....Starting another war and gain more power.

Since your condition wasn't critical, you were allowed to leave a couple of hours later. Though you were told to be careful not to wear clothing too tight, and not to add any pressure to your torso.

So you were allowed to go out and enjoy the festival. Since no one came to see you, you could only assume that they were at the festival.

Not having someone around to see if you were alright, wasn't new. You grew used to it, and it did not really bother you that no one too just a few minutes to come and see you.

Either way, you got ready and headed to the festival. The pain wasn't company gone though, neither was the swelling but you were still able handle the pain.

Slowly you walked around, and the Kingdom was packed with people. Children everywhere and couples laughing together. On your way you even saw Alan and the other two buying some treats. With how things ended the last time, you decided to leave them be.

Besides, you wanted to just look around and enjoy your time alone. There was what seemed to be an ice-cream stand, and you never really were able to afford it and like a child, you eagerly ordered one. With their recommendation, you got sea salt ice-cream.

As soon as you got it you had to move aside since people were also eager to buy it. Eagerly, you began to savor the treat. It was an strange flavor, but it was pleasant.

"It's really good isn't?" A friendly male voice interrupted you for a second. In front of you stood a young blond male with blue eyes around your age.

Nodding your eye landed on his own ice-cream. "Yeah, it is."

He smiled. "They usually only sell in Kingdom Hearts but they travel to other places when there are festivals. I'm Roxas by the way." With his free hand, he reached forward. A festival was a place to socialize not to be skeptical, right? You shook his hand and attempted to smile, only to stop when you felt your lip sting. "I saw you at the arena, everyone was surprised that Sephiroth entered the match."

People were beginning to surround you guys, and it was starting to get a little to get to right for your own comfort. You were going to move but before you did, you invited Roxas to come along. Said male smiled in return and walked with you. "With his rank, so was I." Who would have actually thought he was such a high ranked soldier?

"But I guess what surprised them the most was how you handled yourself, you're pretty good." It sounded like a praise, as if he was impressed.

By now your ice-cream was starting to melt, so you hurried to eat it. "Umn...Thanks." Was all you said, what else were you supposed to say? "Are you from around here?" It was starting to get a awkward, so that's what you asked in order to break it.

Shaking his head, he looked away almost as if was ashamed. "I travel from place to place, and well...I do odd jobs here and there to get by."

But doing that would be extremely difficult, and from the looks of things he didn't look happy about it. "It must be exciting to get to see new places but I guess it can be extremely hard too."

"Yeah, it is." But he didn't sound so convincing. Then as if he had seen someone, he stared up ahead for a few seconds and remained silent. "Anyway, I have to get going but it was nice meeting you." With a last smile, he turned around.

Roxas walked away when he saw Xigbar and Xaldin, though they had been talking with someone else to have noticed him. Just in time he walked away, though when he was out of sight as safe from being seen, he watched you closely.

You had finished the sea salt ice-cream, and your eyes trailed to the stand as if you wanted to get some more. But with so many people surrounding it, you walked away to another stand.

You for something to eat, and walked around until Prince Rufus, Prince Noctis and a few others crossed your path. Prince Rufus spoke to you, and then you all walked away towards the castle.

He got to see the other three, he talked to them and if he could be honest, they seemed to be a lot more friendly than you had been. They were eager and happy to talk with someone new. You on the other hand, you did share that conversation and he noticed that your tried your best to be as friendly as you could be, you still remained skeptical.

There was one reason why he was here, he could have prevented the deaths of many others and he had failed to do so. It was so unfair for all of you to be sacrificed for someone that was not your fault.

Of course he could talk and warn someone but for that, he would need evidence and he did not have any. For now, he would make sure to protect you four. So he set out to, if not warn you, to at least protect you four from afar. That was the best he could do.
