Anger causes people to lose it, and once everything cools down...then it's time when you realize what you've done. So far you've done a pretty good job at doing that, keep thinks calm and keep your emotions in check. It wouldn't be much of a problem had it been someone else, but this was not just someone else. The person who you attacked was none other than a King, who you didn't serve but a King none the less.

It was then that once you returned to your room, sat down in your bed and let yourself calm down did you realize what you've done. No amount of begging would solve the situation, if that was all it took, you would throw out your pride and grovel at King Mateus' feet to be forgiven. Not for you, but for King Rufus and his Kingdom.

Thinking about everything, and the satisfaction on King Mateus' face made your blood boil but...Gripping your hair you wanted to just...hit something. The lack of sleep and the current situation made your head ache.

The stinging from your neck was long forgotten, along with the dried blood. Growling, you stood up and walked to the door, only to be surprised with a pair of guards outside your door. You knew what this meant. "I wish to speak with King Mateus." Not particularly directing your question to anyone, you waited to see if they would move.

If they didn't, then what? The seconds, or maybe minutes felt like hours of silence until the guard at your left moved. In silence he began to lead you to the man's room. Which was far, and away from everything...If it made sense.

Upon arriving, the guard announced your arrival and you were quickly allowed to enter his room. The King sat on his gigantic bed, and of course he was in his sleeping wear. He looked different and even-to some extent- normal.

The guard closed the door on his way out giving you two some privacy. Did you ever came to dislike someone as much as you disliked this man? You cannot remember, it felt suffocating being in this room with him. But you swallowed your pride. "I understand that no amount of begging will repair what I've done," you started trying to erase any hint of your distate on your face. "However, my-" actions have nothing to do with King Rufus' is what you wanted to say,but did. Swallowing, you started again, trying to ignore the satisfaction on King Mateus' face. "We're at war and the last thing I need is to create unnecessary conflicts. For that, I beg of you to take my life in exchange for the forgiveness of my actions."

Death, concidering this King, wasn't that far. This might as well be your last few hours of life. So much for fighting for what you were, but in accepting the role you had you should have thought more about your actions instead of just lashing out. Your rank had a lot of responsibilities, and you were stupid enough to let the anger get the best of you.

He finally rose and began to walk towards you, he towered over you, and the way he looked at you was as if you were nothing but an insect. "You're life means nothing compared to the gravity of your actions, you should have thought about that before that."

Swallowing, you looked away from him and to the ground. "I know," defeated you responded.

Although you could not see his expression, what he said next, you could feel the smile of satisfaction. "If you want my forgiveness so much, kneel."

You've kneeled before, but that request wasn't just a simple kneel. No, he wanted to see you grovelling. You trembled in anger, King Mateus could see it. The way your hands shook, but you swallowed your pride and slowly began to lower yourself until you were on your knees. Without looking at him you continued to go lower and lower until you were almost laying on the ground. "Please."

Satisfied, he turned around and walked back to his bed. "Guard," he called out and instantly said guard entered the room. "Get up," he ordered you, and you did so. "Take her to the dungeons, give her nothing but water until I say otherwise."

You didn't struggle as you were being shoved out of his room. The King watched you closely, surprised to say the least. Not just anyone would have done what you did, specially a First Class Soldier. They were very prideful men and would not grovel at his feet for forgiveness.

Now that he had you at his disposal, he wondered what actions King Rufus would take. No one was allowed to accept someone of their ranks in their Kingdom, not even as prisoners. There had been a contract before, execution was their agreement. They were to be executed rather than be kept as their own soldiers or even prisoners.

A smile, a real smile adorned his lips as he returned to his bed. There was just one thing that satisfied him; His plan worked, they always did.
