War, it was war. The following day you were awakened by the trumpets announcing that the enemy were close. Withing a minute or two, you were ready and dashing out of your room to the hallway, where you met the rest of your companions.
Servants were running about, trying to find a safe place to hide, and from the commotion outside, it wasn't any different from here. With your sword in your grasp, you went outside only to see the same creatures from before attacking soldiers and civilians.
Some soldiers managed to defend themselves while others were overwhelmed by groups of these creatures and died. But of course, only to stand up and attack the other soldiers and civilians.
Sephiroth motioned for his group mates to follow him, Angeal to doing the same. Before you even have them orders, they nodded to you, a sign that they were ready.
Maybe it was the chaos, but they were willing to listen to your orders. "Stay close to each other, that way you won't have to deal with a group of those things on your own and end up overwhelmed by them." You told them, seeing that the soldiers maybe in fear, they just fought on their own.
Working as a team worked, you could prove it by how well you there's managed to kill any creature close. If one of your group mates found themselves overwhelmed by them, the other two were there to back him up.
Besides, you were pretty fast and strong, so you managed to get rid of them faster than the other two. By the time the creatures were banished, most of the civilians managed to hide which had helped to kill the creatures.
"Split up, but don't go too far, and make sure these things are dead. If you find any more of these things, alert the others." They nodded at your command, and from afar you noticed that Angeal and Sephiroth had done the same thing. Those soldiers, who had been close and available upon the attack, that managed to survive looked shaken up a bit. But when you passed them unfazed by it, they tried to compose themselves.
The whole thing hadn't taken too long, maybe fifteen minutes, and after it was done the Prince and King arrived. Prince Luneth looked livid, mostly because he was held back by Sora and Riku, Vincent and Terra were at the King's side.
"What happened here? How did they manage to get in?" Maybe he was still shaken by the attack, but he should have known since you explained to them about the other attack. But some of his soldiers explained it to him.
"If I may, I think it would be best to evacuate everyone as soon as possible. It is sudden, and perhaps unprepared but it must be done right now." Angeal suggested to the King and the Prince.
Prince Luneth nodded, "alert everyone about the evacuation, that includes every single soldier available to fight."
There was still the matter of the army still fighting Kindom Oblivion, and they knew that. They would have to discuss that later, it wasn't like they should just retreat, with creatures like these, King Xemnas wouldn't let them just get away like that. If anything, it would require for the rest of the Kingdoms to offer their help and send their armies too.
The King and Prince walked away, Angeal and Sephiroth joining them. They were going into a meeting, and you felt as if it wasn't your duty to join them, but Angeal stopped turn around and motioned with his chin that you had to go to.
Sending a glance to your group, it was as if they had come to respect you as they nodded their heads to you. As if telling you that they would wait for your command.
The King took a seat on his seat, Prince Luneth standing at his side. Before he spoke, their eyes went straight to you, as if expecting you to leave the room. It was something that you expected, but you remained rooted on your spot, and they continued." The other Kingdoms have accepted for our people to stay there until the castle is safe. But it will be difficult for all of us to evacuate all at once"
In other words, they had to be evacuated in groups. If they attacked the whole groups, it could be chaotic. "Two groups can be evacuated, kids and women should be our main priority." Prince Luneth added, "but for that we will need for a few soldiers to stay back," but he was referring to the three of you.
Theirs soldiers were capable of defending, of fighting back but with the rumors of how strong the First Class Soldier... They wanted for either, the three of you to stay or for at least on of you to stay back.
"We can split your people into three groups, one of us will accompany each group." Sephiroth informed, " once we arrive at the closest, they can stay there then they can split into three groups and head to other Kingdoms. With how many people there will be, it will be very difficult for only Three Kingdoms to house them all."
"Alright, please talk it out you three while we discuss and begin to organize the first group." The King dismissed you three, so you got out of the office.
"My group and I can stay last, that way you can return to ShinRa faster. I'm sure King Rufus will want the two of you there if he's going to dispatch an army. I have no experience whatsoever in commanding any army right now." Because you knew they would send you first, or at least that's what you thought they would do.
They nodded, "alright, then I'll leave first and then you." Angeal told Sephiroth, who agreed.
"Besides, it would be best for each group to leave a couple of hours after the previous one. That way they will not be in danger if Xemnas decides to attack the Kingdom again." Or that there would be fewer casualties if it came to that.
"Just so you know," because when the time arrived, if more creatures arrived, someone or some would have to stay back while the civilians were lead away. "If it is necessary to stay back in order to fight, that's what I am going to do. I'm just letting you know ahead of time."
"Alright," the two of them agreed, "Once you're clear to move on, do it. Were going to go on sequence, make sure they arrive safely to their assigned Kingdom. They're going to be split in three groups, you're going to make sure that the other two make it safely to the others. Once you're done, wait a few days on the last Kingdom, and if by that time you have no message stay there until you receive one. Is that clear?"
"Yes, I understand."
"Alright, go back to your team and I'll give you the information that you need when they're ready to leave." With everything clear now, Angeal walked away, leaving you alone with Sephiroth.
He watched you with a curious glint in his eyes, then he smiled. "You've done such a tremendous job so far." His words made you feel filled with pride, it wasn't like you were looking for some sort of validation. But having THE Sephiroth say that, it was a honor.
"Thank you,"
"You have proved everyone wrong so far, and like I said, you've improved a lot since you accepted King Rufus' offer. But don't let that get to your head and lower your guard, don't you ever underestimate your opponent."
His job as your mentor was now showing, but he was right. The worse mistake you could do was to understimate your opponent, that would end up killing you. "I won't," and he was then gone and out of your sight.
For the rest of the day, all you had to do was wait and stay on guard just in case you were attacked again.
The King left with Angeal's group, while Prince Luneth had agreed to leave with Sephiroth's group.
You watched them go, one group after the other. Some soldiers were left behind to aid you, but they seemed rather worried and even afraid. But they forced themselves to look like they were okay, for the sake of the civilians left.
In a couple of hours, your group would depart so you waited and prepared for the worse.
