Got A Secret, Can You Keep It?(Ff/kh)

Chapter 12

The medic placed you in a cot, and with a knife ripped your shirt open. However, the medic paused as his eyes stuck to your chest. There were bandages wrapped around your chest, and it wasn't to cover a wound.

He was hesitant at first, but he began to get rid of those bandages as well. You were having so much trouble breathing, and if he didn't do it now you'll die.

So, without losing any more time, he gathered the materials needed and got to work.

It took him an hour or so, but he managed to treat your collapsed lung, and broken rib. However, there was something he had to do and that was to alert the King.

He made sure you were comfortable before he changed into a clean coat and then opened the door to leave. Outside the door was First Class Soldier Sephiroth, waiting for him to finish. "Well?" The man pressured him for answers.

The medic opened his mouth only to glance inside the room, no words were able to form. Was he supposed to tell him? No, his dirty was to inform the King. "The..." Clearing his throat, he tried, "There was a broken rib which was the cause of the punctured rib, but everything will be okay."

Sephiroth crossed his arms knowing where the medic was heading to. "Whatever place you have I mind to go to, I suggest you cancel it."

The medic opened his mouth only to realize that the First Class Soldier already knew about your gender. "But she's a woman...The King mu-"

"A soldier," Sephiroth corrected, "that's all there is to know. Must I remind you that that soldier is not under our jurisdiction, leave  her to her King."

But he was right, you were not under ShinRa's rule so it didn't really matter if he told the King. Besides, the last thing he wanted was to be on Sephiroth's bad side. "I...I understand." With that he walked away to see if anyone else needed his help.

Sephiroth opened the door and walked inside, he locked it just to make sure that no one else would be able to enter it. When he entered it, he noticed you were on your back and now you were breathing a little more normally. Your lower lip and a part of your cheek was swollen from the previous battle. Other minors wounds were also treated, and of course, he could see that most of your torso was covered in bandages.

That's when you began to stir, and then began to open your eyes. It took you a moment to gain your brains, but when you did and you noticed Sephiroth staring at you, you hurried to cover your body. Though it was already too late, he had seen you, discovered that you were a woman.

Frowning, you looked away and tried to get up. But Sephiroth did not allow you too, with his hands on your shoulders he pushed you down. "Even the strongest Soldiers know when to take it easy. You should rest."

"Did you tell them?" Finally you asked.

"Tell who what?" He answered with a question, almost with curiosity.

Swallowing a lump of saliva, you snapped your gaze at him. "Do I have to say it?"

After your response he smiled. "If there is anything to be said, is that one of Lucis' Children was injured, and nothing more."

It was puzzling  why he didn't reveal your secret. Why? Didn't he dislike you four?

"It is not my place to say," as if reading your mind he answered, "it's yours." He then paused, "are you that girl that Zack and Cloud spoke about? I can only ask because of how Cloud kept staring at you at Seventh Heaven."

Seeing that Sephiroth already knew your secret, it would not hurt you anymore by answering his questions. If anything, you should be thankful that he didn't reveal your identity to everyone. "Yes, that was me."

It wasn't new that you didn't seem enthusiastic to see your childhood friends, he noticed your distate at the bar. As much as he wanted to ask, it wasn't his place. That issue needed to be resolved by the three of you. "I see."

"How....How did you find I was..." The question caught him a little by surprise.

How? He was pretty sure you were not going to like the answer. Clearing his throat, he shook his head. "That's not important, what you need now is some rest if you want to heal faster." He began to walk towards the door. "Just a little piece of advice, just remember that sooner or later all secrets are revealed." His hand grasped the handle of the door, "I suggest you do it on your own terms." With that, he walked out leaving you alone to think.

As he walked away, the corners of his lips lifted up. You may have have your tricks when finding the time to shower... However, next time you should definitely make sure that other people don't have the keys to the doors you made sure to lock before you took a shower.
