They weren't careful so they easily killed a their of their soldiers, mostly those from Palamecia. Roxas was sure to send detailed information and to give that information to their soldiers. It appeared that King Mateus didn't do any of that otherwise this wouldn't be the outcome.

Shaking his head, his eyes traveled to the new corpses and then to those who survived. There were a few who really were affected by the small battle, they were in shock. The rest were making sure that the corpses were really dead. But then his gaze landed on one of the soldiers, he was wearing the uniform from Palamecia. It hung on him way to loose, his frame was smaller than everyone else. He walked around looking at the corpses, and if one moved you made sure it was not one of the monsters. If it was, he made sure to completely kill it.

Something propmted Roxas to love towards the young soldier, Prince Ace called out to him but Roxas continued. If the soldier noticed him, he didn't show it, he continued to do his work.

It was only a couple of meters away that he felt it, and there was only once person who made him feel. Who brought him the sense of a beating heart against his chest, for his emotions to rush all at once .Unconsciously, he stopped and placed his hand over his chest.

It had been such a long time he felt his emotions, and they were just overwhelming. So he stepped back, "[Name]?"

Hearing your name being called, you stopped, straightened up and allowed your sword to rest against your leg. Slowly you turned around, and yes, it was definitely you. There was blood covering your face, but it wasn't yours. "Roxas," your lips twitched into a smile, "long time no see."

The male shared the smile, being this close to you, he felt that his smile was real. The happiness wasn't something he simply remembered, it was something that he really felt. He liked the way it felt. "It has," truth be told, he didn't expect for you to be here. It had been a long time since he had seen you, last time he heard, you were under King Mateus' ruling. That Kingdom's defences didn't just consists of his guards, but also a shield. It prevented him from entering the Kingdom without being detected. That was one of the reasons why Xemnas didn't just attack them right away.

You noticed the way he studied your new attire, you smiled but looked away. "I'm no longer a First Class Soldier, I'm simply just a soldier." You answered his unspoken question.

But that was not what made the male worry, he knew about you, he knew about what had happened. Everyone knew, but with how inactive you had been for the past two weeks, he assumed King Mateus would keep you close to him. To protect him...But that wasn't the case.  He had stripped you from all you had, your title and you privileges.

He didn't say anything for a few minutes, technically you were safe for now. At least, safe from Xemnas, he got the wrong woman. But, that woman was a close friend of Zack and Could, if he told you, you would definitely try to save her. Or worse, speak the truth and exchange places.

The only people who knew about your existence and who was seeking for you was Roxas, Axel and Xion. At first they had the belief that Xemnas wanted you for the only purpose of obtaining their hearts, but with what he had been doing so far...Roxas felt that that man needed you for something much more.

Glancing back at Prince Ace, he wondered....Would it help if others knew? Prince Ace was a good man, there were others that were kind too. There really was no reason why they were helping Prince Ace and Prince Laguna. But, he wondered if he telling Prince Ace and Prince Laguna would...Shaking his head, he decided not to. The more information was revealed, the more the risk they ran of people knowing.  "Are you okay?" You asked as you took out a piece of dirty fabric and began to clean your sword, then you placed it back in its sheath.

Roxas snapped out of his thoughts, "yes," again he glanced back at Prince Ace, "come on. Follow me."

Without wasting time he headed towards where the Prince was, so you followed him. The prince was studying the area around him, and finally  looked at Roxas until the two of you were close enough. Being this close you could see just how young he really was, maybe 17? 18? He really looked so young but he wasn't phased by the battle, and you wondered why his father allowed for him to be present during a battle. It was highly dangerous, unless there were other Princes .

The young Prince tore his gaze from Roxas to you, his eyes scanned your face and then down your frame. But once they landed on your chest, his cheeks began to turn pink. Quickly he returned his gaze back to your face, his eyes widened upon the realization of who you were.

Roxas smiled and motioned to you, "this is the woman you've been hearing about. [Name]," then he turned to the other male, "this is Prince Ace."

You vowed down then straightened up and before you got the opportunity to say something, the Prince cleared his throat and tried to straighten his posture even more.  "It's an honor to finally meet you," maybe it was the way he was raised, he leaned forward and reached out to you, expecting you to place your hand in his. However, before he leaned forward even more to kiss the knuckles of your hand, you shook his hand instead. This time it was your turn to clear your throat, feeling your face warm.

"No, the honor is all mine." Being done with shaking his hand, you pulled it away. He once more straighted up obviously feeling embarrassed.

"She's no longer a First Class Soldier, but her abilities still remain the same if not even more powerful. Since she will be fighting with us, would it be alright if she stays closer to us. That way if I am not close enough, she will be able to protect you."

"I can protect myself Roxas," he was clearly embarrassed, and once again, the insult did not unnoticed  by you. It was not intentional, you understood that.

"If I may," he was insulted by the thought that a woman was going to protect you, and it did sting. Making sure to acknowledge the two of them, you tried continued, "I appreciate the thought Roxas, but I really don't have any orders other than fight. I was given free reign, to simply fight and I prefer it that way." And then you walked off again, but this time you waited for the others to either return back to camp or continue.

That only left the two males to watch your retreating form. "Did...I say something to offend her?" The curiosity and naive was strong in Ace's tone of voice.

Looking away Roxas offered his attention to the Prince. "It wasn't your intention, but you pretty much questioned her abilities and not simply questioned them, based them on her gender."

In society the a woman was a symbol of love, affection, beauty, gentleness and kindness. It was just hard to accept that  a female warrior was fighting at their side. It just felt strange and if Ace was honest, a part of him did question it.  It was just a mechanism, something he was taught since a young age.

The Prince didn't say anything, nor did Roxas. Both males continued to watch you for a few more minutes and with different thoughts in their minds.  Roxas was rather disappointed in the outcome, the truth was, he wanted you close not so that you could protect Prince Ace. He wanted to have you close and keep you safe.

Prince Ace was also disappointed but more in himself than anything. Not only did he question your abilities, and insulted you. No...He..He didn't just insult anyone, he insulted the person he had been so intrigued about. No...The woman he  had come to have a crush on.

But this was again, nothing new. Having to change the view of women was not going to be easy not would simply happen. You'll get there eventually...For better of for worse.
