Roll Call: Arlen/Blue Sky, Dolion, Eliodoro/Miron, Kel
The loxodon (elephant man) Kel, a paladin for the ancient gods, heads off from his guard shift and begins walking back towards the Selesnya Conclave. A concerned looking Mira makes her way over to him. She holds an amulet in her hands that is blinking.
"I don't know if you've met my brother, but he tends to get in trouble," says Mira. She explains to him that this pendant starts blinking when he's about to be in danger. She says she is much too busy to investigate this herself, but asks if Kel will do it for her. Shes says she will be "...forever in your debt."
Kel agrees to help Mira, and she explains that the blinking speeds up in frequency as it gets closer to Miron.
Kel takes a carriage through Precinct 1, paying 1 gp to the driver. As the driver makes it to precinct 6, a thick fog seems to have appeared on the street up ahead. Perhaps it is fog coming from the docks, Kel thinks. The carriage passes the building with the angel of debt housed upon it, and the driver decides this is far enough.
"Sure you want to be down here this time of night?"
Kel hops off and assures him that this is exactly where he wants to be. The driver gives a worried shrug and quickly turns the carriage around at a speed that Kel never would have imagined it could accomplish.
As Kel approaches the fog, the pendant starts rapidly blinking faster, then suddenly stops. Kel realizes that the fog he saw ahead seems to be something more of a wall than natural weather. Kel tries to use his enhanced sense of smell, but only detects the smell of a scared horse and an even more scared man riding away.
Kel walks up to the wall of fog and hears sounds of fighting from the other side. He walks through the pea soup and realizes that the other side is completely clear. Kel suddenly detects the smell of blood, above average coffee, and a spicy dark smell that he is not able to distinguish. He realizes that the ring of fog seems to be only around the one block of this warehouse. He sees an elegant elven woman along the side of the building's entrance.
Kel pulls out his wooden lance and shield then calls out to Blue Sky. "What's going on here?"
"Who are you?" They ask back.
"Kel," He says. He explains he was sent here by a centaur named Mira and was asked to find and protect someone by the name of Miron. Miron hears his name called from outside the warehouse and turns to see a Selesnya loxodon. He immediately realizes this to be someone sent by Mira, acknowledges their existence, but seems mostly annoyed and a bit angry as he turns back to the fight.
Kel still cannot place that spicy dark smell, but now realizes that whatever it is, the crates in this warehouse are full of it.
Blue Sky claims that their mission here is confidential as they turn back to the fight. From within the warehouse comes goblin screams. "They found our secret base!" "Help, I'm blind. Oh god!"
Combat Continues
Miron takes a swipe with his axe into the goblin in front of him (RoundOneMiron) who had actually been previously damaged from Miron's charge attack. The axe hits for 13hp directly into the gobiln's shoulder, then cleaves through to the other side of it's body. Miron, with his target destroyed, now suddenly notices a Gruul hobgoblin that seems to have appeared out of nowhere. He clambers back into a small pile of crates just below (LeftCratesBow), completely destroying them in the process.
Blue Sky peeks around the corner again and shoots a fire bolt towards (CardGameSight). The bolt misses and hits into a crate with a sizzling sound. With the small fire against the crates, Kel finally recognizes the smell. Every crate in this warehouse, he realizes, is full of explosives.
