Session 14 - Chair Catapult

Roll Call: Arlen, Dolion, Eliodoro, Kai, Uldin

  The party sprints their way down the staircase in order to be present at the bottom of the steps when Dolion throws down the card from his Deck of Illusions. The captain and four guards illusions will remain in their spots appearing life-like unless Dolion attempts to move them elsewhere.

  Arlen is the first to make a move, casting Web into the middle of the room. This twenty by twenty cube of affect covers a huge portion of the room, spreading halfway into the cells of some of the guards, but keeps from hitting them as they are all against the walls. The web stretches from floor to the rather low ceiling above. The webs manage to entrap all four of the viashino lizardmen.

  The viashino to the left and closet to the staircase (liz4), tries to break free of the webs, but fails. As does (liz3), (liz2), and (liz1) going counter clockwise.

  Uldin, who is still rather far up the stairs compared to the rest of the party, sends Sprocket down into the room. Sprocket turns to (liz4) and says, "I'm sorry for the wait, but the professor will be here shortly. Until then enjoy some interesting factoids. Adult dragons are imbued with magic...." (liz4) is hit with the agonizing pain of waiting in a waiting room.

  Kai uses Toll the Dead on (liz4) but the attack on the viashino misses.

  Eliodoro chucks a Chromatic Orb infused with acid damage at (liz4) dealing 16hp to a screaming viashino. (liz4) appears to be especially angry. Eliodoro then runs over and hops on top of the table against the wall, which is just out of reach from the webs.

  Dolion climbs onto the walls and runs over to the table, being on the wall just above Eliodoro, and stabs at (liz1) with his rapier dealing 13hp. The affects of the invisibility spell wear off from the attack. Dolion remains on the wall.

  Arlen shoots a Fire Bolt at (liz4) who is on the outskirts of the web, though it misses and hits a wall instead. Arlen runs up the stairs to where Uldin is to avoid taking fire.

  (liz1), (liz2), (liz3), and (liz4) all struggle against the webs once more, though (liz4) is the only one able to break away. (liz4)'s webs snap and the viashino runs up the stairs to Uldin. It swings at Uldin with a club that hits for 3hp and a spiked shield which also strikes the scientist, depleting his health by an additional 6hp.

  Uldin decides to take a manual swing at (liz4) who is up in his face, but the enemy dodges the strike. He then moves Sprocket into the right corner near the staircase within the room.

  Kai follows (liz4) up the staircase and lurches his trident forward into the back of the enemy dealing 9hp. The blood from the viashino sprays onto Uldin as the trident prongs heave clean through the viashino.

  "Thank you Kai." Uldin says while wiping away the blood from his goggles.

  Eliodoro on top of the table casts Burning Hands at the webs which are known to be quite flammable. He is positioned just right to hit all (liz1), (liz2), and (liz3) with the spell. (liz1) who had just been stabbed by Dolion is hit for 14hp and collapses into the smoldering webs. (liz2) is hit for 10hp and (liz3) for 13hp.

  Dolion, not sure what else to do as the other two enemies are deep within the webs and he has nothing to throw, walks around to the back part of the webs closer to his illusions and taunts the entangled viashino.

  Arlen uses Minor Illusion to make the appearance of a fire wall just in front of Elidoro (the wall being five feet long) to discourage (liz2) and (liz3) from attempting to go for the mostly alone wizard once their webbed chains are burned free.

  (liz2) and (liz3) take 5hp from burns due to the web. Both of them are able to distinguish that Arlen's fire wall is an illusion. (liz2) runs on top of the left chair next to Eliodoro still on the table. From here, (liz2) swings at one of the Boros guard illusions. The illusion seems to duck and dodge out of the way of the attack, leaving both viashino still believing it to be real. (liz3) trips and falls into the old web which had not been torched by Burning Hands, entrapping the enemy once again.
