Roll Call: Arazowyn, Arlen, Dolion, Eliodoro, Kai, Uldin
It is determined that the strongest member in the group is the tall and lanky Uldin. It's decided that he shall be the carrier of said chest. The group seems suspicious of this, but can't figure out why he has such high strength.
Upon leaving the store's front entrance, the group notices a few passerby's very near. Eliodoro has a brief encounter with a snobbish priest, and a small child attempts to steal from Arlen. Arlen immediately notices and grabs the child by the wrist, and lifts him above the ground. Arlen intimidates the kid while breathing hot breath into his face. They then put a cigarette out in the child's face and drop him.
The group makes it to Tinstreet again and Azarwyn and Dolion decide to stealthily become lost in the crowd up ahead while the rest of the group stays further back with Uldin and the chest in the center.
The crowd begins to grow thick and movement virtually stops. Arlen tries throwing Auntie Sam in an attempt to discover what is causing the traffic jam. The termite, having been asleep on their shoulder, suddenly wakes up, and makes a U-turn to fly back to Arlen. Auntie Sam is very annoyed with the abuse.
Dolion climbs a lamp post in the crowd of people but cannot see what exactly is happening, simply that there is a visible cutoff where the crowd ends. Azarwyn, having maneuvered through the crowd, is close enough to realize that this is a parade. A Rakdos parade to be specific. Very likely having been started by consequence and without warning.
The group eventually makes their way towards the front of the crowd and Arlen creates a minor illusion of a pipe bomb in the middle of the street. Rather than becoming frightened and ending the parade, a performing imp attempts to kick the bomb, though his foot goes through the apparition and he lands flat on his butt. The crowds laughs and cheers believing this to be part of the spectacle.
A woman from the parade notices the trick played by Arlen and makes her way over to them with her tiny amount of clothing and large performing hoop (cyr wheel).
The woman is impressed with the trick and talks to the asexual Arlen about coming to some parties sometime. Arlen recognizes this woman to be a high ranking member of the Rakdos guild whose job is to find people to torment. She also seems to have a habit of saying "Oooooo.... Don't tempt me. ;)" Arlen stands still, obviously awkward in the situation, not saying much. Eliodoro seems very attracted to the woman blood witch, though doesn't do anything before she can leave. She gives Arlen her card and rejoins the show.
The party decides that waiting for the parade to finish or taking the undercity guided by the Golgarian Arlen and Azarwyn would both be much more dangerous than simply taking a side street, heading upriver of the parade. The party takes off down the alleyway.
As the group heads further and further down the streets, the amount of people grows fewer and fewer until they are suddenly alone.A group of goblins leaps out from behind crates and barrels and one goblin (presumably the leader) demands for Uldin to drop the chest. "Why?" Asks Uldin. "We... are robbing you." Retorts the goblin. After a brief discussion with the goblin leader about the logistical strategy of being a thief and the goblin demonstrating a vast knowledge of the differences between a robbing, mugging, burglary, etc.
Combat begins.
