~Simic Combine~
"Go right ahead, but I'm a dab hand at healing myself, and this doesn't sound good. You don't have to sugar coat it for me." cough. "Lost a whole wiggling of sky eels, that's what you call a lot of sky eels, the day before I got sick. They just slowed down and then just stopped moving one day. Looked real bad on my report." cough. "I can only suspect that I got into the same sort of whatever I got. Is it heavy metal poisoning?"
Kai hears the same clanging sounds of Necromancy which were coming off of Drenve to be emanating about Tond.
Kai chuckles at 'wiggling of sky eels'. "I've gotta be honest, I'm a bit envious of you getting to work with krasis and animals so often. It sounds like wonderful work. Now, did you notice anything strange that day before you got sick. Anything with the eels? Any strange people or creatures?" As he's doing this, Kai's going about his usual checkup routine, but also feeling with his magic to try and pinpoint anything besides just base-level necromancy. Unfortunately the ins and outs of Necromancy elude him.
Time to find some books on it. Kai thinks to himself. A trip to the Golgari perhaps...

Uldin Follows sprocket whose claws tap at a steady beat against the tiles of the Hospice, similar to that of a metronome, leading Uldin down the halls to the room where Kai did his ritual and returned the letter. The two wait for Kai to return.

~Peregrine Pearl~
"Estelle has always had a way of turning people around." says Dolion. "You seem to be giving off a different aura now. Like you're happier."
"Do I? I guess, I do." She grins. "It was weird at first coming up here. To the surface. Many people are still afraid of gorgons, the Sisters of the Stone Death made sure of that. They were the old guild leaders before Jarad took control of the Golgari. Supposedly, Ludmilla, the only surviving sister, is still down there somewhere. Hiding, and plotting her eternal vengeance." Siri clears her throat. "So... I expected people to treat me more like a boogie monster, but everyone at the pearl has been wonderful."
"Well that's good to hear. You're a good person Siri. You deserve to be treated well." Dolion gives her a shy smile.
Aww, thanks. Its really been great here at the pearl." As she stands there is a clatter of dishes in the sink in the back. "Speaking of which, I should really get back to work. Your ring should swap back to common in just a few more minutes, so don't worry about it too much." She waves, and jogs back to the back room.
Dolion smirks to himself as he stares at the door Siri just went through. She really does seem like a completely different person, doesn't she? He thinks to himself. Maybe this could finally be someone special I don't have to wipe from my memory... Dolion exits the Pearl.

About an hour after Dolion leaves, Lucius enters the storefront. He's wearing a crimson and gold suit with a rust colored cloak. An ornately carved wooden staff that he uses as a cane in his hand. Hanging his cloak on a peg near the door. He approaches the counter, seeing Siri busy behind it. "Good afternoon my dear! How are you today?" His voice is jovial and bright, and a wide smile matches it.
"Oh!" Siri looks up surprised "I'm sorry sir, I didn't see you come in. Welcome to the Peregrine Pearl! What can I get started for you today?" Vic is nearby, wiping down some tables in the cafe. It doesn't take much insight to tell he doesn't trust the fiendish looking man. And if Lucius happened to be Detecting Magic, he might have noticed Vic receiving a Message cantrip from somewhere in the back room. Quite likely about the importance of creating a warm and inviting environment, and not glaring daggers at a customer.
