Roll Call: Arlen, Eliodoro, Dolion, Kai, Kel, Uldin

Kel and Arlen travel to Fortress Sunhome together in Arlen's hooded wagon. The two are rather late to say the least. Inside Arlen's wagon, Kel finds mounds of different pesticides for all levels of deadliness. Lots of peculiar smells come from these sprays, as well as the scratch and sniff stickers Arlen places on Auntie Sam that smell of old coffee. Kel gets to feed Auntie Sam a scooby snack and the two bond... just a little.

The soldiers at Sunhome tell them that Borris and their friends have already gone on their way towards the Garrison to deliver the explosives. After a while, the two come across the wagon of explosives with a troubled minotaur nearby.

"Oh, are you with Eliodoro? Y'all part of that Pearl... P... Pearl group? What do you call yourselves?" he asks.

A metagaming discussion is had by all the characters until the desired outcome of "Pearl Jam" is reached.

Borris gestures at the ball of vines that used to be the Garrison. He tells them that it sounded like there was a lot of fighting in there earlier, but that he thinks the action has died down for now.

The two enter the hall and as Kel steps through the entrance, he is hit with a wave of sweaty locker room and gunpowder. Arlen and Kel find the party just inside huddled around a skinned boar. Upon being briefed on the events within the building, Arlen sends Auntie Sam inside to feast upon the boar. It pounces on the massive pile of freshly killed pork with vigor. Eliodoro seems particularly disturbed by the horror feasting into the animal.

"It's the circle of life Eliodoro. Do you not wish to stay for dinner?"

Eliodoro ignores the "termite" and begins discussing strategy. He suggests Kel and Kai remain on the outer edges of the group at all times for the greatest safety. Arlen puts on their tin foil hat for added protection.

They walk back into the hall and see the same scene from before: a set of single doors on the right and left, staircases that do the same, another set of single doors just beyond that, and the double doors at the far end of the hall. The party discusses going up the staircases, but decide that perhaps a better idea would be to make sure the bottom floor is cleaned out first so as to not allow attacks from the top and bottom simultaneously while they are trapped on the staircase.

The party enters the first door on the left, leaving Kel and Arlen outside to stand guard. Behind the door is a long rectangular room containing four long tables lying perpendicular to it. Running straight from this door, one could hop on top of each of the tables one after another moving only in a straight line. This room appears to be a mess hall of sorts, though it doesn't appear to have been recently used. To the immediate left and right are more single doors.

Uldin places his ear against the right door, but does not hear anything coming from the other side. Uldin wiggles this door and finds it to be locked.

Eliodoro does to same to the left door, and hears clanking of what he thinks could be dishes. Perhaps this is a kitchen of sorts? He also hears a strange sizzling sound coming from behind it. Eliodoro also hears a chittering of sorts just beyond the door in a language unknown to him.

Eliodoro waves the party over to the left door, including Kel and Arlen out in the hall, indicating they are going to go through this one. Kai tries to carefully turn the knob to see if it is locked as well, but trips and accidentally pushes the entire door wide open. Inside is a smaller rectangle of a room, about 15 feet from this door to the wall and 30 feet long. There are many kitchen appliances and barrels filled with water around the room, and a counter connected to the wall to the immediate left, which stretches around the front left corner, and further down the wall opposite the door. Two stoves are also along this same wall. Floating above the stove and counters are four impish creatures which seem to be composed entirely out of smoke. Their existence seems to waver as they hover in the air. Two of the creatures are crowded around the stoves, which have their doors open. All of the party members are able to infer that the sizzling sound within the kitchen was the sound of gas coming from these stoves.
