I agreed to meet Maggie with Carter. He texted her nonstop since we got home yesterday. Carter parks at the park and we got out.

" Uh, I'm gonna buy some stuff. I'll be back." Carter said.

" Okay." I said as he quickly walked off. I walked off and see Maggie.

" Hi, you must be Christina." She hugged me. I hesitated but hugged her back.

" And you must be Maggie. Nice to meet you." I said.

" You too." She smiled. We sat on the bench. It was awkward. I know that Carter and her are going to date. But I'm afraid that I'll lose him again.

" Hey, I know we barely know each other but I was wondering if you would come to this party tomorrow." Maggie asked.

" Uh, sure. " I said.

" So how did you meet Carter?" She asked.

" Well, we meet on one of his magcon trips. " I smiled as I remembered of annoying he was. Such a flirt.

" Did you and him date?" She asked.

" Um. Yea, but it was a mistake. We are only friends, trust me." I cringed as the word 'friends'.

" Oh. " She said.

" He is cute and charming." She said. I nod.

" Do you think Carter likes me?" She asked.

" Yea. I mean, maybe like as a friend." I lied. He loves her. She looked a little disappointed.

" Don't worry." I said. Carter came back with the most gorgeous flowers. White lilies. My favorite flowers.

" Hey." He said, standing in front of us. It looked like he was giving it to me. But it went straight to Maggie.

" Aw, thank you, Carter." She said. She got up and kissed his cheek. Jealously filled me.

Why? Carter and I? I'm positive that he doesn't want to date me anymore. But why do I feel like we can start over? The way he smiles and jokes around with me. His warmth. His touch. His eyes. Just him. It makes me want him more everyday. Maybe, we can work. But it's too late. He fallen in love. But it's not with me. It's with Maggie.

Of course, it's Maggie. She is beautiful. Flawless. Perfect. Everything Carter dreamed for. He wanted her the day they met. Just like the day we met.

" Christina?" Carter said. I look at them.

" Uh. Yea?" I said.

" We are going to the swing set, wanna come?" She asked.

" I'm good." I said. She's nice too. They nodded and ran.

I watch Carter push Maggie so she could go higher and higher. Like a parent and a child. But this looked more like a couple.

" Carter! Not to fast!" She laughed.

" Don't worry! I got you!" I hear him said.

Tears form. It's hard seeing someone you love with other. I know he deserves better. He deserves happiness. Why did I have to be so stubborn when we met? Why couldn't I look like Maggie?

I got up and walked off. My phone buzzed. My manger is calling.

" Hello." I said.

" Hey, Christina. Okay, here is the problem. Someone wants to buy your songs." She said.
