Chapter eight: Mine

Jake bangs on Nate's door. Jacob was behind him. Jacob's is just as angry as Jake is. Beings Cotton was his cousin, he would do anything to keep that bastard Nate from harming her. Jake could careless if Nate is Pear's brother. He's going to kill him. Or at least beat the crap out of him. Nate opens the door to see two angry boys. "Well hello boys?" Nate greets them. "Where are they?" Jake asks.

Nate decides to play dumb. "Where is who?" He asks with a dumbfounded look. Jake grabs Nate by his collar. "My child and my wife!" He growls. That scared Nate. "Alright, I'll take you to them." Nate surrenders, afraid of what the boys would do to him. Jacob was a huge compared to Nate and Jake was close behind him. Nate takes them to the basement. They walk into the huge place. To see Jessica and Cotton tied to a bed. Well more like handcuffed. Jessica's eyes lite up when she saw Jake. Cotton had her head buried in Jessica's chest. So she doesn't know Jacob or Jake are there. "Jessica? Cotton? You okay?" Jacob whispers. "Yes." Jessica says. Her sadness was creeping back up and it made it impossible for Jake to believe she was okay. "Do you wanna die tonight? Let them go!" Jake runs Nate into a wall. "Never." He says to Jake.

Jacob smiles and picks up a baseball bat. "Well I guess you'll die." Jake moves out of the way. Jacob was preparing to swing. "Now lemme tell you a story." He made a terrifying swing at Nate. But luckily for Nate, Jacob wasn't aiming for him yet."You see this baseball bat. I'm going to murder you with it. Do you know why?" Jacob asks. Jake likes the way he was taunting Nate. "Why?" Nate asks. "Because you took something that is mine. Didn't your mother tell you not to mess with another man's property." Jake answers.

"Go ahead swing it'll be the last thing you do!" Nate spat at Jacob. "Gladly." Jacob smiles. Nate didn't think Jacob would kill him. He swung, knocking Nate to his knees. Cotton lifts her head. "Jacob." Her voice was small and fragile. "It's okay Cotton, this will be quick." Jacob answers. "No!!!" Nate screams as the baseball hit his jaw. Breaking his neck instantly. Everyone heard his bones crack three times. Cotton hid her head in Jessica's chest again. She just witnessed something, she couldn't stand seeing. Jake grabs the keys to the handcuffs and uncuffs the girls. Jessica hugs him tightly. Cotton just stays where she is. "Thank you! Jacob!" Jessica thanks him. "Welcome." He says with a cute smile.

"Cotton, you okay?" Jake asks as he knelt down to her size. "Jake, Nate touched her inappropriately." Jessica answers. Jake grabs Cotton gently. "Oh baby girl! I'm so sorry!  I won't let anyone else hurt you. I promise you!" Jake kisses her temple. Jacob was really pissed now. Knowing the boy was still breathing. He beat him with the bat over and over again. He curses as he does. "Jay he's dead." Jake said to him. Jacob could barely lift his arm. "That bastard touched my cousin! He deserved everything he got." Jacob says walking over to his family. "I'm sorry Cotton!" Jacob kisses her temple. "At least he didn't rape us." Jessica says rubbing Cotton's back. "God if he did that I would have done worse." Jacob says.

"Can we go home now?" Cries Cotton. She didn't want to be in this basement anymore. It held horrific memories. Cotton definitely didn't want to remember or relive. "Yes baby we can." Jake says and walks up stairs. Jacob and Jessica followed. They got in the car and drove home.

They were home. All sat on the couch. "I'll call Josh over." Jacob says pulling out his phone. "No!" Cotton says and takes the phone away. "Cotton? Why? Did something bad happen with Joshua?" Asks Jacob. Cotton just nods and climbs in Jessica's lap. "He hurt her bad. I doubt she's going to want to talk to Joshua anytime soon." Jake explains. A knock on the door interrupted their conversation. "I'll get it." Jake said and walks to the door.  He opens it to see Joshua there with a box. "You wanna see Cotton don't you?" Jake says.

"Yes.'' Joshua replies. Jake just nods and let's in the lad. "Cotton?" Joshua begins. "What's in the box?'' Asks Cotton. Joshua smiles, knowing he had a lovely surprise for Cotton. One that she's been asking for since he could remember. ''Well I'll let you see for yourself." Joshua hands Cotton the box. Cotton opens the box to see the cutest blue fawn pit bull puppy. "Oh my god! Josh! He's soooo cute!" Cotton's smile made them all happy. "He's yours." Joshua says with a smile. "What ya naming him?" Asks Jake.
