Jessica wakes up to see nothing but an empty room. Cotton was usually with her and she thought it was strange. Where is my Cotton! She thought. She got off the bed and to the window. She saw the shooting star. She made a wish. Don't let me lose everything. Don't let me lose her or Jake or my family. Or my baby. Please just please don't make us lose anything. She whispers. Everything she had felt like she was losing them. She knew she had to find Cotton since she was missing. She most likely was with her brother.
Jake was awake to, he saw the shooting star to. He made a wish, Who am I? Please show me the way. I'll do anything. He whispers and as he was about to get in bed, Jessica walks in. "Jes?" Jake says. "Cotton's missing but I think she is with her brother." Jessica says as she walks into the moonlight. Her tears were now visible. Her biggest weakness was when she cries. She hates it and Jake didn't like seeing her cry. "Then let's go find her." Jake grabs her. "Babe, I lost her." Jessica cried into his chest. "No baby you didn't lose her. She just wants to be with her brother. Baby stop crying. Let's go find her." Jake says. Jessica pulls away and pulls herself together. "Yeah let's go." Jessica and him walk out of the room and downstairs. "Here grab a coat, it's really cold outside." Jake says as he slips on a coat. "Okay." Jessica took a white fuzzy coat and put it on.
As soon as she and him walked out, the icy cold hit them instantly. Jessica shivers and Jake grabs her. "It's okay." Jake whispers in her ear. His warm breath made Jessica stop trembling. "I'm okay." Jessica says and takes his hand. "What room is her brother in again?" Asks Jake as they walk to the hospital. "22." Jessica says. They walk into the warmer hospital. They hung their coats on a coat rack. They walked to twenty two. Cotton heard voices so she hid underneath the bed. Please go away. She says. She heard the door open. And two pairs of feet stood in the doorway. "She's not in here." Jessica says. Jake shook his head. "Babe she could be hiding. She probably thinks she's in trouble." Cotton went back and hit her head. "Ow!" She accidentally whispers. Jake figured Cotton was under the bed. He went to the other side and got on his knees. He lifts the blanket to see Cotton holding her head. "Come on out of there." Jake held out his head. Cotton took it and slid out of from underneath the bed. "Oh thank god." Jessica ran and hugs Cotton as tightly as she could. "Ow!" Cotton says again. "Oh sorry. Cotton why were you hiding from us?" Asks Jessica.
Cotton looks at her brother. "I-I thought I would be in trouble considering I left without your permission. I just wanted to be with my brother." Cotton stutters. "Oh baby, you're not in trouble but you did give us a scare." Jake says and picks her up. He kisses the tender spot on Cotton's head. She winces a little bit but it wasn't as throbbing as it was. "I'm sorry!" Cotton hugs him. "And babe we understand you wanna see your brother but next time tell us your going to see him. That why we won't get worried or you won't think you're in trouble." Jessica says and rubs her back. God I miss this. When did it stop. Cotton thought as she felt Jessica's gentle hands rub up and down her back. It soothed her. Her eyes began to droop so did her head. "Jes she's falling asleep." Jake whispers as Cotton fully closed her eyes and let sleep take her over. ''That's why I rub her back. It soothes her right into sleep. It makes it easier to get her to sleep. I only use it when I have to." Jessica smiles and moves Cotton's locks out of her eyes. "She so quiet when she sleeps how do you not get scared." Asks Jake. "Because she sleeps really close to me. I always lay my head in between her neck and chin. It tells me she's breathing.'' Jessica says with a smile. ''Awe. That's adorable, one day I'm going to have to take some pics of you and Cotton." Jake says and kisses her cheek. ''And our baby when he or she arrives.'' Adds in Jessica. "Of course." Jake says putting his hand on the small bump. "We'll be officially a family." Jessica smiles.
"Yea we will be.'' Jake says. With a smile. "Um do you want to go home? Or stay here find an empty room and sleep together." Asks Jessica. "The second one. I miss you and my girl." Jake says.
They walk out to find an empty room and Jake hands Jessica Cotton. Jake lays down and puts Cotton on his chest. Jessica scoots closer to him and her. She laid her head on Jake's chest. He put his arm around Jessica's body. "I love you Jes." Jake whispers. Jessica looks up and smiles. "I love you Jake."
Cotton could hear the I love you's. She smiled in her sleep and touched Jessica's nose with her small hand. Cotton whispers. "I love you mummy and daddy." She whispers. Jake smiles and kisses her head. Jessica kisses her hand. "We love you too." Jake says.
"Goodnight." They all say at the same time.
