Chapter Nine: Why?

Jake slams the door to the flat. Cotton jumps at the force. "I'm not going to hurt you Cotton, I just wanted her to know she hurt me badly." Jake says while kneeling down to her height. "Why are you fighting?" Cotton asks. Jake lifts Cotton's head. ''She's in one of her moods." Jake replies. Last time Jessica was sick, she was snappy and mean to Jake. It's worse now, cause Cotton is around. "I've never seen her so angry." Jake says picking up Cotton and spinning her around.

Cotton giggles and hugs him. "She'll be okay." Suddenly, the flats door flew open, revealing a pissed off Jessica. "Uh oh." Cotton says. Jessica walks up to them and crosses her arms. "Jessica, calm down, I didn't hurt her." Jake smiles at her and puts Cotton down. Jessica straight up slaps him. "Damn." Johnny laughs. Cotton giggles. "She's definitely mad." Jake just glares at Jessica. Jake would have hit her but Cotton stood in the way. "Please no!" She pleads. Jake pushes Cotton aside and runs Jessica into the wall. "Do you really hate me?'' Jake says to her.  Jessica looks like she's about to cry. "No." She whispers. He let go and she hugs him. She cries. "I'm so sorry Jake! I'm so sorry!" Jake holds her. "Let it out baby.'' Jake whispers to her. "Hey, I'm going to go." Johnny says but Jake just waves it off.

"Are you two okay now?" Cotton chimes in. They both look at her. Jessica pulls out of Jake's hug and picks her up. She spins Cotton around. "Oh baby. It happens but don't worry that won't happen again." Jessica kisses Cotton's cheek. "Good because that was really terrifying." Cotton says with a giggle. This girl shows no weakness and the couple loved it. ''Says our fearless daughter.'' Jake pokes Cotton's  belly. "Do you honestly believe I'm fearless?" Cotton asks Jake. Jessica feels like she's going to throw up and hands Jake, Cotton and runs to the bathroom. "That ruined a perfectly good family moment didn't it?" Asks Jake. Cotton nods. "I don't like seeing her sick like this." Jessica walks back out. She looks completely like death. "You okay?" Jake asks. "I think I need to sleep." Jessica says. A yawn escapes her mouth. "Aww mummy is tired." Cotton giggles. "Yeah she is.'' Jake laughs along with her.

"I hate you both." Jessica says while giving them both kisses. "We love you too." Jake smiles.

Two weeks later.

Jessica had gotten worse. She lost so much color. She looked so sick. She couldn't keep anything down and she barely sleeps anymore. Jake was beginning to worry about her. It was like she was already dead. "Jake!!!" Jessica screams. Jake comes running to see a sight, he never expected to see. "What's happening?" Cotton came up to see it and almost instantly she fainted. "Why?" Jessica screams.

"Baby I don't know." Jake smiles. Jessica had blood spewing out of her. Jessica looked heartbroken at that moment. "I didn't even know I was." Jessica cries. Jake picks her up. "Neither did I baby." Jake kisses her temple. Cotton just stared at them, she didn't know what was happening. "I don't understand?" Cotton manages to say. "I was pregnant." Jessica cries. Cotton ran to her. "I'm so sorry!" Cotton hugs her tight. Jessica hugs back. "It's okay baby." Her cries were all they heard until Jessica spoke. "You know what I won't let this bring me down, I need to be strong for my babies."

Hearing those words gave Jake hope as well as Cotton. "I think we could try again." Jake smiles at her. She nods and smiles. "Yay!" Cotton sorta screams. They look at Cotton like she was crazy. "Sorry." She says shyly. "Baby don't be sorry.'' Jessica grabs her. "Yeah don't be." Jake says pulling his girls into his embrace.

"I can't wait to receive a baby brother or sister." Cotton smiles.

"Neither can we." Jake says kissing her temple.
