Chapter Thirty-Six: A little murder goes along way.

Joshua gladly gave Cotton to Jessica. "Baby girl, y-you okay?" Jessica asks. Cotton shook her head and her eyes started drooping."She's sleepy. Should we take her to Lou?" Asks Jake. Jessica glares at him. "No. Not this time." Jessica says and holds her closer. "Jesy she's sick?" Jake tries to reason with her and take Cotton away from his fiancé. "Get the hell away from me!" Jessica yells at Jake. Jake definitely knew something was wrong. Jessica seemed worn out and tired. Cotton was in the same situation except for she got ill every so often. "Joshua can I have a word with you?" Jake asks Joshua who wasn't trying to get involved. Knowing Jesy was hormonal. "Yea Sure." Joshua eyes Cotton. All he was thinking was wake up Cotton.

Jake and Joshua walk out in the hallway. "We need to get Cotton to Lou. I hate to do this but you have to help me get Cotton away from Jesy." Jake tells him. "But Jesy is pregnant?" Joshua asks with a raise of his eyebrow. "We're not harming her. I just need you to hold Jesy back so I can get Cotton out of here." Jake says. "I don't know, she's in a mood. I'm pretty sure she'd eat me." Josh laughs. "Yeah she'll fight but not to much. Just help me get Cotton away from her." Jake smiles at Josh. "Okay." Joshua was bit reluctant to do so but seeing Cotton sick kill him. "Let's get it done shall we?" Jake says as he walks back in. Jessica wasn't in there. "Um?" Joshua looks at Jake. "Dammit she must have heard us and ran with Cotton." Jake hits his head. "Or they're in the bathroom?" Joshua points at the bathroom. Both of them heard shuffling. "Let's hope so." Jake walks to the bathroom. He tries to open it but it wouldn't budge. "It's locked." Jake says to Josh. "Not for long." Josh says and undoes the lock. Before you know it the door opens. But what they saw killed them inside. Jessica was in the corner with Cotton. Cotton was limp. She had blood running down her mouth and onto the floor. Jessica was crying in Cotton's chest. It was like a scene from a horror movie. "Jes?" Jake says quietly. She looks up. "She needs help!" Jessica screams. "I know baby. Let me take her." Jake smiles at her and steps cautiously towards her. Just in case Jessica gets frisky. Jessica allows Jake to take Cotton from her arms. "B-be careful!" Jessica snaps at him. Jake realizes he needs to put her bridal style. So he adjusts her. "She's so limp." Joshua says as Jake walks out. Jessica was right behind him. "What happened?" Joshua adds to Jessica. "Blood started fuming out of her mouth. I ran to the bathroom to clean her up and the next thing I knew she went limp." Jessica explains. "Well we have to get her to Lou before her heart stops for good." Jake says as he carefully walks down the stairs.

A few minutes later, Lou spots Jake with a very small and limp body. "Oh no." Kaleb says. "Get a gernie now!" Lou yells to a nurse. "What happened!" Lou asks Jake. "We don't know!" Jake tells him. "Here ya go Doctor!" The nurse says.  Jake lays her carefully on the gernie. "Something is caught in her throat. That's why she was fuming blood." Lou says to them. "You might want to look away." Lou says to him. "Um why?" Kaleb asks Lou. "Unless you wanna see me stab her to unblock her throat I suggest you look away." Lou snaps at him. "Done." Kaleb says. The only person who didn't turn around was Jessica. Lou stabs Cotton's neck. A little bit of blood splattered but the puncture wound wasn't to big. "Did she have anything hard to swallow today?" Lou asks Jake. "Um not that I know of why?" Jake asks. "This was caught in her throat." Lou holds a black statue looking thing in his palm. "Whoa? I thought you were watching her Jake?" Jessica snaps at him. "Um Josh was with her not me. I went to clear my head out. Where the hell were you?" Jake asks her. "I was out! And that's not the point. You don't think she'd try to kill herself would you?" Jessica asks. "No that was physically lodged in her throat. She couldn't have done that herself." Lou says to her. "That would be impossible sir, that's almost bigger than her throat." Says Kaleb. "Exactly why I say that. Josh do you know anyone that'd try to kill her?" Lou asks Josh.

"Not that I know of but I do know one person who has it all out for Cotton." Josh says. "Who?" Asks Jessica. "Sommers." Josh replies. He was pretty blunt. That's one thing Jessica loved about the boy. "Sommers? Why would she try and kill Cotton?" Asks Kaleb. "Um I think I have an idea." Jake says. "What is it?" Asks Lou.
