Michael's POV
It was chilly outside and Y/N and I were walking home from school. We didn't drive because the weather made my car break down.

I had a big jacket on over my hoodie, and felt toasty and warm. So warm I didn't even notice Y/N freezing next to me.

Suddenly I felt a cold, little body close beside me. I looked down and Y/N was in my jacket, hugging me tightly and shivering.
I smiled and wrapped it tighter around her. She continued to hug me as we walked.

We eventually made it back to my house and up to my room. I kicked off my shoes and ripped my jacket off, but Y/N picked it up and put it on. It look humongous and adorable on her so I started laughing.

She smiled and sat down next to me on my bed. We laid there and watched (f/m), listening to the snow softly hit the window. It was so blissful.

"Oh my god, this movie is so good."
She said, her eyes completely warped into the screen. I smiled.
"Is that why you watch it so much?" I laughed.
She looked at me confused.
"I've never seen this before." She giggled.

I raised an eyebrow.
"Heh... what?" I looked at her. She looked just as confused as I felt. I grabbed the remote and paused the movie.
"Hey! It was getting good."
I grabbed her shoulder and she stared at me.
"Y/N... what are you talking about? Are you okay?"
She looked kind of scared.

"Michael, calm down. I've never seen this, let's just watch."
I know she's seen (f/m) more times than I can count, so I studied her face.
Her eyebrow arched, her pursed lips, her wispy hair...
Her head bandages.
I bet that's what this was.

"Y/N, can you remember this movie?"
She shrugged.
"I mean, I know that guy just-"
"No, I mean, do you remember watching it before?"
She shook her head 'no'.
I stood up.

"We need to go to the hospital."

Y/N POV
This was very confusing. Michael and I were sitting in a check-up room, waiting for the doctor to finish reading my chart.
He looked at me, then down at the chart, then back at me again.

"Well Ms. L/N, it seems you have head trauma, inducing temporary memory loss. It shouldn't be too bad, or for too long."
He wrote something down and looked at me smiling. I knew that smile, the fake one that all doctors wore. The one to assure everything was okay, even if it wasn't.
I played along anyway.

"Thank you." I smiled, bringing my hand up to trace my bandages.
"So how long do you think this will continue?"
Michael asked.
The doctor sighed. "Hard to say. The brain is a tricky thing, many complex parts. Memory is especially unique, unpredictable."
Michael frowned.
"I'd say no more than a couple weeks or so, it may get worse at some points, but it will still better." He assured us. "You'll be fine."

I sighed and stood up, sticking my hand out.
"Well thank you. We'll keep that in mind."
I looked at Michael. He looked scared, but smiled and thanked the doctor regardless.

Once he exited the room, I stood in front of the tall boy, who was biting his nails, his eyebrows furrowed. I put a hand on his shoulder.
"It's going to be okay, alright? It's going to be fine." I assured him. He looked at me hard, his eyes scanning my face, and lagging at my head.

He sighed and grabbed my arms, pulling me closer, hugging me tightly.
"I'm going to be here every step of the way."
He whispered, not letting go. I hugged him just as tight.
"I know Michael. I know."
