Michael's POV
I was sitting at lunch today, talking to Jeremy. Everyone was pretty much aware of Y/N's situation now, even if she wasn't.
It was getting harder, but like the doctor said, it would get better soon."So Y/N, how much longer before you go home?" She shrugged.
"I don't know I might just stay at Michael's."
She looked at me, slurping her slushie.
"That's okay right?"
I laughed.
"Of course it's okay. You can stay with me till you're ready."
She furrowed her eyebrows.
"Ready? For what?"
She didn't remember. It didn't help that she didn't wear bandages anymore, as a reminder.I sighed, and smiled.
"Nothing."
"Okay." She smiled, slurping from her straw.
She looked so cute, wrapped in my sweater.
Jeremy looked at me confused and I shook my head.It was getting easier to just decline parts of conversations she didn't understand, instead of trying to explain that she has amnesia over and over.
She traced the scars on her arm with confusion, and pushed her sleeve back down quickly.
"You okay?" I asked.
She smiled, a fake smile, and nodded.
"Fine."
She wasn't telling me something. Now I just had to decipher if it was now and real, or if it's something from weeks ago."What's wrong with your arm?" I asked her.
Her eyes widened.
"I um... nothing I'm fine. It's just from when I was little."
Now that's definitely a lie.
"What are they?" I asked again, holding her arm."It's okay if you don't know."
She looked confused.
"No it's just... promise you won't think I'm a freak?"
She whispered. I kissed her forehead.
"I could never."
She sighed.
"My mom's not exactly the nicest person."
I frowned like I didn't know what she meant."Hey, it's fine. I'm here." I assured her, hugging her tightly. I didn't need, nor want to hear about that terrifying woman again.
She smiled and hugged me tighter.
"I love you." She whispered.
"I love you too."*time skip*
Y/N's POV
Michael was totally cool with my weird mom. That was so amazing, I was sure he would be freaked out. I mean, we've only been dating for a couple weeks. He really is sweet. I looked at him at his car wheel, his textured brown hair bouncing as he bopped his head to the music. His glasses reflecting the red street light, the red that matched his signature hoodie.
I put my hand over his, and he froze and looked at me. He smiled warmly and I kissed him softly, my heart swelling happily.
I pulled away and he looked dazed.
"W-What was that for?" He smiled a dopey grin.
I shrugged.
"I don't know. You look very pretty."
He chuckled.
"Well you look very handsome."
I giggled. We arrived at his house and I jumped out of the car, and ran in.
"I HAVE ARRIVED!!" I yelled.
He came in behind me.
"What are you doing?"
"Announcing my arrival."
"Yah, I got that. Why?"
"I don't know."
He laughed and grabbed my hand, dragging me upstairs.
We plopped down on his bed, and he held me, playing with my hair. I snuggled into his chest."What are you doing?" I asked.
"I don't know." He played with my hair more.
"Okay."
I wrapped my arms around his torso and he kissed the top of my head. Eventually the light faded, and I slipped into a deep sleep..
