Michael's POV
I stood at my locker, chatting with Jake.
"I don't know man, it's been about a week and a half. If he's okay, then he'd be back I think."
I thought about what he said.
"Well why do they need more kids? Why do they keep taking more?"
Jake shrugged and picked the picture of Jeremy, Christine, and I off my locker door.
He took a long glance, and sighed, tacking it back up.

"See ya man." He waved a two-finger wave and walked off.
I pulled out my phone and texted Y/N.
Michael: hey you at your locker?
She didn't respond.
She didn't even read it.
Then I noticed the time, and realized why.
"Shit, I'm late for class!"

I swung my bag over my shoulder and pocketed my phone, booking it to Homeroom.

*time skip*

I sat at the lunch table, talking to Jake.
I was scrolling on my phone, waiting for Y/N to show up.
I got another buzz.
***NEWS FLASH: AMBER ALERT***
I sighed sadly.
"Another one." I informed the table.
Everyone quieted, and I pulled up the article.
That's when I froze, unable to think, move, speak. My eyes were stuck in place.

Y/N L/N. West Borough High School.
Age 17, (height) (hair color and length)
Last seen at West Borough.

"Michael, who is it?" Jake asked.
I couldn't produce words. My eyes were wide and unblinking.
They got her. I wasn't there, and they got her.
"Michael?"
"They got her." I whispered. It's all I could muster.
"What?"
I dropped my phone and ran to the bathroom, nauseous.
I slid into a stall, kneeling in front of the toilet and throwing up.

Jake came running in after me, holding my phone in one hand, and his water bottle in the other.
"Michael... I'm so sorry. I'm so-"
He put a hand on my back.
I continued retching, tears forming in my eyes.

We sat in silence for a minute, thinking, contemplating, or... whatever.
She was taken.
"They got her." I whispered.
"She's petrified.... And I can't do anything to help her." I sniffled.
[A/N: I know this is the wrong time, but do you get the reference?]

Jake nodded and sat next to me, keeping his hand on my shoulder.
"I'm so sorry Michael." He whispered.
What could be happening to her?
What could they be doing to her?
Is she dead?
Is she in pain?
Is she scared?

I stood up and ran out the stall, out the bathroom, out the hallway, through the front door. I found my way outside, and out on the sidewalk. I fell to my knees, feeling weak.
"JUST TAKE ME GODDAMNIT!! JUST KIDNAP ME TOO!!" I screamed.

My screams turned into quiet sobs. I tried so hard to keep her safe, and they got her.

Y/N's POV
After the sickly sweetness of the sedatives wore off, I woke up, my head in pain and my wrists ice cold.
I pried my eyes open, adjusting to the low dim of the room. What I saw astounded me to a degree that I thought impossible.

I saw rows of kids, tied to chairs, dirty, bruised, and broken looking. The room around us was dark and dank. It was horrific.
I tried making noise but it came out a muffled garble.
A couple heads turned, and I saw Christine and Jeremy (among other kids).
They were still alive.

Tears came to my eyes, so happy to see them not dead. I smiled best I could, after realizing I had a handkerchief tied around my mouth.

My wrists were pulled back behind the chair, cuffed with ice cold, rusty metal links.
My torso was tied with rope to the back of the chair, and my ankles were tied at the bottom. It was very thorough.
Who the hell did this?

Just then a door in the back opened, and in it stood a tall, slender silhouette. Once they stepped in, I saw a tall boy with a NASA t-shirt on. He had glasses and a nervous, but creepy stature. He definitely had some stuff visibly wrong with him.

I remember seeing one of his Twitter posts. He wrote something like:
"I'd like to kidnap a Heather and photograph her naked in an abandoned warehouse and leave her tied up for the rats"
It was so weird.
This kid is nuts.

He scanned the room, and found my face, smiling a creepy smile.
"Hello." He said grimly.
I gulped.
