Y/N POV
I was sitting at Sbarro with my aunt, admiring my new phone.
"Thank you so much again, for this!" I said, scrolling through my contacts. I just uploaded all my old accounts and information on here, so I had all my stuff still.
"Oh, it's the least I could do since you know... you're phone got smashed." My aunt said frowning.

I picked at my pizza, peeling off the (topping) and knowing on it.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and jolted away, darting my eyes up.
It was just Jake.

"Oh! Jake, you scared me." I said.
He had a big grin on his face.
"Sorry, just saying hi." He looked at my aunt who was staring warily.
"Hi Ms.L/N, I'm Y/N's friend Jake." He stuck his hand out.
She shook his hand.

"So Jake, are you good friends with Y/N?"
He sat down next to me and looked at me in confusion. I patted his shoulder.
"Yes he is." I nodded.
He smiled and we fist-bumped.
My aunt eyed him suspiciously still.
"So would you say you two hang out a lot?"
I looked at him and we shrugged.
"Yah I guess."
"Sure, yah."

She put a finger to her chin.
"Good, because you know, Michael isn't always there, and I'd like to have someone who can keep you safe."
Jake looked at me and smiled, noogie-ing my head.
"Yah, I'm a tough guy." He said.
I made a raspberry noise.
"Whatever. Me too."

He laughed.
"Well clearly not tough enough." He smiled.
I cleared my throat uncomfortably and smiled.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean-"
"It's fine." I assured him.
He smiled and shook nodded.
"Alright, I gotta get going. I'm hanging out with Rich later."
He stood up and waved bye.

My phone started buzzing.
I looked down and Michael's face appeared on my screen. I smiled, taking another bite of my pizza and picking up my phone.
"Y/N?! Y/N where are you?"
I tried speaking but it came out as weird muffled sound cause I had pizza in my mouth.
I stared coughing and my aunt started laughing.

"Y/N?! Oh my god oh my god, where are you? Why aren't you here, why can't you speak?"
I swallowed my food and laughed.
"Michael I'm fine. I'm just at Sbarro with my aunt and I choked on pizza."
He sighed and his voice trembled.

"Okay. Good, I was worried."
I giggled.
"I'll see you later okay? I promise."
I could hear the smile in his voice.
"Yah, see you then."
I hung up and ate my food.

*time skip*

I knocked on the door, and it almost immediately swung open to unveil a flustered Michael.
"Y/N! Hey, what's up?" He said, leaning in the doorway.
I snickered.
"I said I was coming over earlier."

He laughed awkwardly and glanced behind him.
"Yah, I just thought... you'd be out longer."
I raised an eyebrow.
"What? Are you hiding a mistress in there?"
I snickered. He laughed too, but much too heartily.

We stood in an awkward silence for a minute, staring at each other.
"Seriously Michael, can I come in or not?"
He huffed.
"Can you come back later?"
I furrowed my eyebrows.
"What are you hiding?"
Was he actually cheating on me?
It wouldn't surprise me.
He could do way better anyway.
I shouldn't be shocked.

I think he read my expression pretty easily however, because he reluctantly pushed open the door.
I walked in to see a half array of movie night set up. Popcorn was popping in the microwave, blankets were thrown onto the couch, along with drinks, and Netflix was on the screen.

"I wanted to have everything set up before you got here." He explained. I giggled.
"It's wonderful."
He even strung up fairy lights.
I spun around and stood on my toes, pecking him on the lips.
"Let's watch (f/m)." He said.
I giggled again.
"Absolutely."
