"I'm disgusted. You really are a light weight damn." Double D said holding his nose
Dom looked up from the toilet and sighed. Using his legs he scooted his body towards the tub and laid his head back.
"What do you want D?" Dom asked rubbing his temples
"I was getting ready to leave. You straight?" D asked leaning against the door frame
Dom groaned and sighed. "I think I'm going to quit D, I appreciate you giving me a job but it's taking up all my time and attention from my wife."
"Look I get yo wife miss you and all but you don't have to quit. Take a vacation spend time with yo wife and come back when your ready."
Dom stuck his hand out to dap him up. "Nah brah I'll see you when I see you. Clean yourself up you look like shit."
"Boy fuck you." Dom stood to his feet and walked to the sink
"I'm kidding but for real I know you said you don't really trust people but you can trust me I'm here as your friend as well. If you need anything my family a phone call away." With that Eddy walked away
Dom shut the door and locked it. Opening up the medicine cabinet he pulled out a bottle of ibuprofen. Opening them he dumped three pills on his tounge, lowering his face to the faucet he downed them. Walking towards the shower he turned the water on and waited for the temperature to adjust before stripping out of his clothes. Once the water felt right he hopped in.
Once he finished he got out and wrapped the towel around his waist. Grabbing his toothbrush as he wiped the fog off the mirror. He went to grab the toothpaste but got interrupted by somebody knocking on the door.
"Who is it?" Applying the toothpaste on his toothbrush he asked
"Kia, open the door baby." Dom unlocked the door and let her in
"Are you ok baby?" Kia asked wrapping her arms around his waist
"I don't know anymore." He mumbled spitting the toothpaste out of his mouth
"Do you remember what we talked about last night?" She asked laying her head on his back
Dom looked up and their eyes connected through the mirror. "I didn't quit." He watched as Kia frowned before giving him a soft smile
"So your going to work? I guess I'll go spend time with my parents." Kia said sadly before unwrapping her arms from around him
"You know I love you and I'll do anything for you and vise versa. But right now I don't think were on the same page."
"What you trying to say Kia? I'm hearing you out but are you doing the same for me. Yeah after everything that happened you stayed with me so what your my wife. I never gave you any reasons to divorce me have I? I was finna say I didn't quit but Im taking a vacation so we can spend more time together."
"I think we need a break Dom." Kia blurted out
Dom froze and turned around to look at Kia. "For what? I told you I took a v–."
"That isn't enough Dominic. I might sound selfish but I do want you to quit, I miss you. I'd rather be broke and back living in our car if that means I get to spend time with you."
Dom didn't say anything he just nodded, picking up his dirty clothes he placed them in the hamper before walking out of the bathroom leaving Kia standing there in her own thoughts.
"Not now Coco." Dom said once he walked inside of the room
Sitting on the bed he wiped his eyes. He didn't know what where they went wrong. Hearing footsteps he stood up and walked towards the closet. Grabbing his boxers he removed the towel.
"Dom." Kia called out his name once she walked inside of the room
Dom ignored her as he got dressed. "Dom please don't ignore me, this is for the best. We both need time for ourselves." Kia said wiping her eyes as a tear
"Through think and thin, rich or poor. Everybody goes through something it's all about persevering."
"Dom could you please agree with me on this one." She walked up to him and grabbed his face
Dom stayed silent as they stared at each other. Kia leaned in pecked his lips. "I'm sorry." She deepened the kiss causing him to sigh
"I love you and I respect decision." Dom said placing a kiss on her forehead
" I love you too. Are your parents still here?"
"No they left the house is empty actually."
"Where Senior and Angela? What time is it?" He asked confused
"It's after twelve Dom." Kia said kissing his cheek
"I been in the bathroom all morning, damn."
"Yep they fucked you up last night, anyways I should get going Dom. I'll call you once I get there."
"I'll walk you out." Dom mumbled sadly
Kia grabbed her purse and the keys. "Come on Coco."
Dom slid his slides on and grabbed Kia hand. "You know I don't mean to hurt you Kia that's never my intention. I just do what I feel is best for us, I hope you understand that."
"I do that's why I love you Dom, don't let this break put a strain on our marriage and don't blame yourself it's not your fault. I don't need you stressing yourself out."
"I won't." He said avoiding eye contact
He opened the car door for her once they made it outside. "I'm for real Dominic."
"Alright I hear you Kia. Coco bring yo bitch ass on!" Dom yelled
"Y'all and this damn dog." Kia said chuckling
Dom closed the car door and stepped back. He watched as Kia backed out of the driveway. He looked down, feeling his heart shattered as his other half left him.
"Come on Coco." He croaked out
Grabbing her collar, he walked back inside of the house. He let go of the collar and walked back upstairs.

"Dom why you always sapping son? Damn you always heartbroken turn that shit off." Senior said walking upstairs
"Senior shut the hell up old ass bastard." Angela said pushing him to the side
They opened the door and seen Dom laid across the bed, a empty liquor bottle on one side and a photo album on the other side.
"This nigga drank my favorite liquor." Senior sucked his teeth and walked away
Angela shook her head and walked inside of the room, she walked up to Dom and noticed the dried up tears, she kissed his cheek and sighed. She turned the music off and removed the bottle off of the bed.
"Everything is going to be ok." She rubbed his back and pulled the covers over him
She didn't know what was going on but she prayed that everything was going to be alright.
