Well the sky is finally open, the rain and wind stopped blowin'
But you're stuck out in the same old storm again
You hold tight to your umbrella, well, darlin' I'm just tryin' to tell ya
That there's always been a rainbow hangin' over your head – Kacey Musgraves

Kia Jones

"Kia why didn't you tell me your brother was back? I could care less about that nigga." Dom asked sipping on his coffee in his hand while he held Coco's leash in his other one

"That's why you were in a funk yesterday or is it because of Lamonte?" Kia asked back

Dom stopped walking, and stared at Kia causing Coco to do the same.

"Stop answering my questions with a question and answer my question Kia

"Stop answering my questions with a question and answer my question Kia. I would dead ass walk off on you. I'm being dead ass love stop trying me."

"Because you don't like him and I respect that. I just needed to speak to him about something." Kia told him

He nodded, licking over his lips before drinking out of his cup again.

"So lying to me about it is ok?"  He asked tightening his hold on the leash

"I didn't lie." She mumbled shrugging

"So you're always honest?" He asked sitting the coffee cup down

He walked towards the brick and took a seat. "Aren't you?"

"No," She told him. "I'm not."

"Well, that's good to know, I guess. Sometimes I wish we didn't rush to get married."

"I'm not saying I'm a liar." She told him.

He raised his eyebrows. "That's not how I meant it, anyways."

"How'd you mean it, then?"

"I just...I don't always say what I feel." She said playing with her fingers

"Why not?" He asked staring at her with squinted eyes

"Because the truth sometimes hurts." She said sniffling

"Yeah." he said. "So do lies, though. I'm here for you Kia, you are my best friend first then my wife. Talk to me, what's a relationship without communication and what's a marriage without trust? I'm here through thick and thin, for richer and poor. I'm not gon' say it no more."

Kia wiped her eyes and nodded. "I– I accidentally sighed of on some paperwork not knowing what it was. I was rushing out– I'm sorry Dom I didn't know. I lied and told them somebody forged my signature."

Dom stared at her, disappointment written all over his face. "Yo are you serious?" Dom chuckled

He shook his head and stood up. "So we're in this predicament because of a mistake you made? We lost everything because of a mistake you made, I sacrificed our well being for you. I had to sell our house to avoid anymore eviction notice and saved us from the embarrassment of being in the face of the media. Are you serious Kia!" He yelled balling up his fist

He clenched his jaw and looked down at his ring finger. "I always forgive you, I take you back because of the love I have for you. When all you've been doing is lying and having me out here looking stupid. Well I guess I am stupid, stupid for loving you." He looked up with tears in his eyes

"Dom." Kia croaked staring at him

He shook his head and sniffled before looking back down at his ring finger. Walking up to Kia he grabbed her hand and opened it. He watched as the tears fell down her face.

"Dom no don't leave me. It was an honest mistake I didn't mean to. Please." She begged intertwining their hands

"You lied to me for months on end Kiana." He whispered

His lips quivered, removing his hand from her grip. He looked down before he slowly removed the wedding ring from his finger. He placed it in her palm and closed her hand into fist.

"Dom no, I'm sorry." She cried out

Her vision becoming blurry as she stood frozen. He kissed her palm and laid her hand to the side. Kia continued to break down, Dom heart sunk. He kissed her cheek before whispering in her ear.

"I love you Kia." Dom whispered

"Dominic." She cried out

Out of nowhere the rain started to downpour. Dom took his jacket off and placed in on her head.

"You can take the car and go back to your parents house." He pulled the keys out of his pockets and slid them in her purse

"Dom promise me one thing." She said through hiccuping

Dom look up at her. "Promise me you won't drink yourself to death."

"I promise Kianna. Now hurry up and get out of the rain before you catch a cold." He said turning on his heels

Dom walked away before he started jogging. Kia watched until he disappeared out of site. She looked at the ring in her hand. She kissed it before sitting on the ground. Placing her head on her knees, she felt incomplete and numb because she watched the only men she ever knew walk away from her from a mistake she made.

"I'm sorry." She mumbled repeatedly rocking back and forth

She could careless about the rain. She wanted her husband back.

Dominic Jones

Soon as Dominic walked inside of his condo he let go of the leash. He shut the door with his foot. Stripping out of his drenched sweats and shoes. He looked around and a picture of him and Kia caught his eyes. His emotions hitting him all at once. Sitting on the floor he laid his head on the ground as he banged his fist. He sat up and placed his hands above his head as the tears continued to fall. Feeling his chest tightening at the pain he felt. He was broken another person he cared about deeply gone.

He had mixed emotions but still in the end he hope him and Kia can start over. Coco sensed the change in the atmosphere and walked up to Dom. She licked his face before laying across his lap.

Everything will be okay.

{I'm crying 😭}
