The door clicked and the handle yielded. In stepped the man, his face noticeably paler than usual.

I need to keep the children safe. Somewhere where they won't find them. Or my money will be gone, Jaewon thought. Both of them are crying silently, what now?

The man grabbed both of their hands and pulled them out of the room, one looking shocked at the other's behaviour. He pretended that he hadn't see their tears. When they reached the other end of the warehouse, a seemingly tall maze stood. The entrance and the whole maze was made of metal fences, and looking at it made Jisoo dizzy. Before he had kidnapped the children, Jaewon had consulted one of the worst kidnappers he knew. They said that this secret warehouse was where they had kept their victims. And they had built this huge maze to keep the victims 'occupied' and leave them trapped in the maze till the ransom was paid, or they found their way out, or died. Whichever was earlier.

After all, he was after the money. Their parents were so rich, and their ransom was an equally large amount. But it hadn't been paid yet. He needed to make sure neither the police nor those enemies of his would not find him or them. After promising them that he would give them a bit of food each day, he pushed both of them into the metal maze. He didn't want those hostile voices on the phone to find them either. Hopefully it was just a joke. He shook his head. It didn't seem like one. How did they know about his mother?

When Jin heard the key turn behind them, he screamed, pounding his little fists on the metal. More tears came. More wrongs clouding his brain.  His only answer was silence.

Jaewon had left the warehouse.

Tears trickled down Jin's milky white cheeks. He was frightened. A small hand laid on his shoulder, so he tried to calm down, but it wasn't easy. Hiccuping gulps punctuated the air of silence between him and Jisoo. It should have been him comforting Jisoo, but it was the opposite.

Wrong.

"Please calm down, Jin," Jisoo pleaded, her wet hazel eyes staring into his. She lifted her sleeves to remove the moisture on her eyes. Now her cheeks were tinted red from crying, and so were her eyes. Jin bit his lip and nodded, feeling ashamed for making a fool out of himself.

Wrong

Before Jin could burst into another wash of tears, Jisoo suggested softly, looking around her, "Let's try to find a way put of this maze, okay?" Jin nodded again, using his sleeve to wipe his face dry. He adjusted his bag strap on his shoulder.

Just as they set off together, a hand grabbed his and began swaying them gently back and forth.

His heart skipped a beat.
