"Left or right?" Jisoo asked, when they reached a T-junction. Jin shrugged. "Right?" He suggested, sick of thinking the word wrong.
They followed Jin's suggestion and turned right. Then he asked, "Where are we now?"
Jisoo frowned. The fences were at least two metres tall, making it impossible for them to climb out. "I don't know- ouch!"
She turned and walked straight into a fence. Atop it was a camera. Is someone watching us? Jin thought. Jisoo knew someone was watching them. A bruise blossomed on her forehead.
"Jisoo! " Jin cried, helping Jisoo to the side of the path. He knelt down and inspected her forehead. The bruise was not big, but it was turning purple. Oh nononono. Another wrong. He had failed to keep any of them safe.
There was no ice around anywhere. Jisoo sat on the floor, wincing. Jin rubbed his thumb on her palm, hoping that it would comfort her slightly. "What are we going to do? Is it very painful?" Jin asked, haplessness in his voice. Jisoo nodded.
Jin rummaged in his bag. He remembered his lunchbox and its contents. His helper had packed cold noodles for him, so she probably placed an ice pack somewhere. Jin pulled out the half melted ice pack and offered it to Jisoo. She shook her head.
"We need to continue walking," Jisoo said, getting up. "Or we will never get out."
Jin nodded, but his heart ached at the sight of her bruise. "Just take it!" He was adamant about it. Jisoo sighed. She wanted to stay strong, but the pain was really getting to her. Placing the ice pack on the bruise, she grimaced slightly. But it was effective. The pain and swelling had gone down after a bit.
Maybe accepting the ice pack wasn't that bad after all.

Meanwhile, the three men had already tracked them down. Jisoo and Jin were standing right next to them. They just had to go round the corner.
The first man slipped a knife out of his pocket, the blade gleaming, ready to cut. The other two had ropes in their hands.
Jisoo sensed something, but didn't know what it was. Just before turning the sharp turn at the corner of the maze, she yanked his hand, pulling him to a stop.
"Stop," she breathed, "there's someone there." Jin gulped.
"Really?" He whispered back.
"Oh, yes." Came a man's voice. He held a knife in his hand and pulled Jisoo into a chokehold. Jin screamed, but was held captive by the other two.
A knife was planted right beside her neck, the sharp blade already cutting her skin. No blood came out yet. Jisoo remained silent, thinking.
She would have to do it. But in front of Jin? Would he be scared of blood? Scared of her? She could only show her victims, since they wouldn't live to tell the tale. But not Jin.
Her mind weighed the two possibilities. She'd get killed and Jin, probably the same.
Jin had to live, right? So it was her duty to ensure he lived.
Suddenly inhaling, she bit down on the man's wrist, blood spilling out of his vein.
Jackpot.
The hold on her weakened, and soon the man slumped to the floor, unconscious. Jin screamed and the two men froze at the scene.
Landing a kick on one guy's crotch, Jisoo grabbed Jin's hand as the men instantly let go of Jin. The other guy snarled and picked up the first man's knife, slightly scared of Jisoo.
"RUN!" She yelled and the two children sprinted off as fast as they could.
