Sometimes in life you have to make the hardest decisions, and sometimes after you've made those decisions, you'll start to feel guilty, and will regret that decision.

Well I for one don't regret the decision that I made 11 years ago. Now you might be wondering what the decision was. 11 years ago, my son and his group of friends went out and were drinking since it was his 21st birthday. On their way out the bar, they saw some cute teenage girl who was walking down an ally by herself so they decided to go and talk to her. The fact that they didn't know this girl made it hard for her to talk to them. One of my sons friends put his arm around her and suggested she go back to their place. When he started tugging her towards their car she kicked him in the balls, and tried to make a run for it but she didn't get far. They caught up to her and she tried to fight them off when soon all of them were touching her but there was no point, she was out numbered. They were furious now and felt like she needed to be taught a lesson for kicking their friend in the balls. So all three of them decided to rape her.

After they rapped her, they left her in the ally and they all went back to their homes. My son came to me and told me everything that had happened, and I knew then that I had to go find this girl. I needed to check on her, talk to her parents, anything that she needed I would do because of my sons reckless and horrible actions. I'm a doctor, so I also knew that 3 guys and one girl could end up in her being pregnant and if she was, I needed to know by who. Even though I was so angry and disappointed in my son, I knew that we could have a potential family member out there, so I turned over every rock and stone to find this girl. I discovered that this girl was only 17 and she was indeed pregnant. It was a coincidence that a couple weeks later, she actually came into my clinic and informed me of her pregnancy and how she wanted to get rid of it. I didn't tell her that I was the mother of one of her rapist like I planned, I just didn't have it in me. But now that I knew she wanted to get rid of it, I knew that I needed to do a DNA test fast to see if it was my sons. It turned out, that it was.

That changed everything. I couldn't let her abort my grandchild and my sons kid, I just couldn't. But I also couldn't openly object without telling her the truth, so I knew I had to come up with a plan. I would tell her that she needed to have a c-section, instead of taking pills like you usual do, because of complications and I would keep the baby.

She told me that even though patient records were confidential, she didn't even want me saying that she ever came here. She said after the abortion, she wants me to forget about ever seeing her, about ever knowing a Natalie St. James Blake but I couldn't, especially now. After her waiting months to finally get her c-section, she finally came into the hospital and I performed the operation. As planned, I took the baby to the nicu and told them that someone found the baby in an alley way. Natalie left and of course, I never heard from her again, and I never spoke of her again.

The baby ended up staying in the nicu for a couple weeks until I deemed myself responsible for him and started the process for adoption. As for my son, during the time in which Natalie was stalling for the c-section, he ended up trying to do something positive in his life and joined the army. Months later, when Natalie had her c-section, he was killed, and I ended up raising the baby all by myself. Baby Elijah, my son. I told him she was pregnant but he was killed before he could even come home and see his son. Now it's just me and Elijah. Everyone who meets me thinks that he's my son, when really he's my grandson. Natalie doesn't know about him and she never will.

So like I said, sometimes people make hard decisions and in the end, they end up feeling guilty and regretting what they did. As for me, I don't feel guilty or regret anything.
